Slow going drift build!
Hey guys I thought that I would go ahead and start a build thread (even tho this wont be done soon). So I have been on Zilvia a little while and I must say I love getting on here just to read about others builds. I can spend hours on this site! I started off on here cause I have a 88 Turbo Z31 300zx. I have had many different plans for this car and have been working on it for a while now. But thats not the car of topic. Because I had to put my Z under the knife for a while I decided I need a DD. A couple month back I purchased my first long wanted 240sx. I decided that I would purchase a 240 use it as a DD for a while to finish my Z and then put the 240 under the knife and make me a nice track car. So I picked up a gold/champain colored 1990 240sx. It has some body damage and needs some serious TLC. But underside looked almost perfect except the little bit of rust on the rail under the driver. Nothin a little metal and welding cant fix. The car is unmolested! That was a top seller for me. The bad was it was an autotragic. Again nothing that a 5 speed swap couldnt fix. I managed to get this car for $750.
Here are a few pics: I will post my plans for this baby tonight. PS. I know that damage doesnt look the best and its not. But its not out of my limits to fix. It was worse then what the pics show. I spent about and hour removing dents already. |

Like I said it looks worse in the pics but I think after pulling it as much as possible and then sectioning it in a few spots I can make it look like it never happened and if I cant then I have a new missile car! haha

For future plans!
First and most important I plan to pull motor and trans. I am located about five min from JDMhookup.com So I spoke with Dewey about a s13 blacktop SR. I will prob run this pretty close to stock for a little while since it will take a quite a bit of my cash. I have a cusco 2 way LSD that I will throw in along with the SR. After I get the SR the plans are to move to my suspension. I am picking up a set of STANCE GR+ coilovers. I might play around with some boost levels keeping it safe but seeing how much power i can get. That will prob take me up to the winter time where my plans are to mod mod mod! I am still putting together a final parts list but I would like to see this puppy get over 300 hp. I have the interior striped currently one so that I can get to the back side of that curator and two so that I can start welding in my gussets for a 6 pt roll cage! |

Build Threads Almost everyone enjoys building their cars and sharing that experience, as well as checking out others' builds for inspiration. Sadly, far too many users have a tendency to do half-hearted builds and either rarely update or update with trivial progress. In the interest of keeping the Chat forum clear of three hundred 'Install SR, ziptie aero, rattlecan paint' threads, incomplete, or in-progress build threads are not allowed. If you have completed your build, wrangle all those pictures into a post and tell us about it, but make sure the build is finalized. If you insist on having an in-progress build, Premium members have a specialized subforum for that specific purpose. |
