power problem?

Okay, so, I just got my car back from the shop. They replaced the engine.
When I got it back, the speedometer and RPM's gauges would only work if I revved the car above 2500RMPS, it has a brand new 200$ Duralast battery from autozone.
the neg. battery terminal has a slight crack in it, but it still connects.
Anyone know what the problem could be?
Thanks

Yup. Just went to pick one up from Auto Zone, apparently they only sell them at the dealership.
