Rb20det silver top idleing rough at cold and hard to start
So ive been slowly getting my rb running a little better every day. So heres the breakdown:
Car will start, but it takes gas to get it to start when cold. It will turn over and turn over and try and start a few times. Battery is brand new 800cca. -Car once started will run rough, and it may die. However if it idles for more than 10 seconds or so it will usually stay running. -Car will make it all the way to warm and idle up. -if i where to shut it off i may have to apply gas to start it again. -for whatever reason my stock tach wont even work, and my aftermarket tach wont work. I even wired in a 10k resistor. Not sure why. I replaced the coolant temp sensor made no difference, pretty sure i wired everything correctly. If anyone can give me a hand id greatly appreciate it! Thanks, Dakota |

Thanks so much on those!!!! replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the maf and it fired to life like right away, despite not having the maf hooked up lol. I was leaning towards spark plugs before but you confirmed it for me.
Again thanks a ton! |

Nice, No prob. just make sure you gap the plugs properly, (they are not pre gaped) Cant remember for RB20, so search around and see what ppl gap theirs to.

Im running a bkr7e, which im pretty sure came pre gapped at .032. I double checked all of them and made sure they where the same. I figure so long as it doesnt blow out under boost ill call it good. If not ill just re gap them to what everyone runs those plugs at .028.
