Installed solid steering rack bushing. Steering feels heavier
So yesterday I swapped brake pedals (doing a 5 speed swap next weekend) on my s13 and Since I was pulling the column I figured I'd do the steering rack bushing as well.
Anyway it was a ll a bitch to do, but I got it in, steering wheel is centered, and it is definitely more responsive i.e. no slack when turning the wheel. The only con I have is that the steering now feels harder. Is that normal? could it be from not positioning the lower steering arm correctly/ it's not fully seated or binding or something? It is consistently harder to turn, so when I'm approaching full lock it feels the same as when I first start turning. Also I can live with it, it's just something I noticed. Lastly I did not reuse the nylon spacer things, is that a potential cause for this? |
