Ca smog exhaust help

Hey guys I'm new here, new to forums in general dont really do them. So if I'm doing something wrong let me know thanks!

So my question is about exhausts. it wouldnt let me post on intake and exhaust forum.
so I have a 91 z32 n/a, and im looking into getting an exhaust system, the thing is i live in good ole california yay... i was wondering if a typical lets say hks cat back would smog in california? if so maybe some sort of axel back or even just mufflers? im tired of the stock sound help anyone? much appreciated!

As long as you keep the catalytic converter on your fine. If it worries you so much just keep the stock exhaust and slap it back on when it comes to smog.

Any cop will give you a ref ticket if they feel it is loud, especially if the car doesn't "look" expensive, like a Ferrari. Then again, Irvine ticketed a ferrari owner for "reckless driving" for doing nothing more than 1 sec 0 - 40mph.

Hmmm

Good to know. just tired of stock exhaust i want a deeper sound i was just worried about smog

You can buy an aftermarket cat, but i don't see why. Unless it didn't pass smog before because of the cat.

When i passed smog recently The guy said ill probably need a new cat...i only passed by a few points he said

as long the aftermarket cat you buy is legal in 48 states. a lot of time it would tell you its legal then you will pass smog.
