Clutch Issue

Okay here's the deal, I have a 93 S13 and it was acting weird a few weeks ago, I would have to rev it high for the car just to move. Every gear it just wouldn't move. So I figured it was the clutch. B/c the car wouldn't even make it up a hill. We installed the clutch and drove it literally 30 minutes and it was fine. I parked the car for a week and after about 20 minutes of driving it started up again. I can let off the clutch completly and the other wont' stall out even in fifth gear. When I open the hood it's got a weird smell like burning. I checked the master cylinder level and it doesn't seem to be leaking. Just wondering what you guys think?

What kind of clutch did you put in it? Where did you get the clutch? Did you have the flywheel resurfaced? All these should have been explained when you asked for help. It matters. Now, if it's not stalling when you release the clutch, that tells you that the clutch is not making friction on the flywheel. Check your pressure plate, make sure your slave cylinder isn't binding and holding the clutch in the disengaged position. That weird burning smell is probably the clutch on a glazed flywheel.

Adjust the master cylinder rod, sounds like it's threaded out too far, keeping the clutch partially engaged at all times. That would explain the smell too. The previous owner may have adjusted the freeplay out of the pedal as the clutch wore down, now it's too tight.
