This is what I was hinting at.

Basically the ole bell-mouth vs divided argument, except with a twist I won't be using the internal wastegate.

So does anyone know if the T25-EWG-44 housing is actually a Garrett product? On ATP it states its a Garrett special housing, but I tried to have my local shop order it through Garrett directly and they couldn't find it.

Obviously an freer flowing exit will help, the little division in the Greddy Type O2 housings is so small that it's got to be negligible at best. It's not like it necks down, it retains the same exit for a short period and then obvously expands.

ATP is a Garrett Design house, so they are able to RD things, and sell them with Garrett's approval. IIRC only 5-10 shops have this privilege. There is a list somewhere on Garrett's website listing them too.

Super super old photos, but it's not bad. You need a 3" 90 out of the compressor inlet, and then another 90* pipe going into it.

Ok, looiks like I can get dyno time lined up this Saturday. I fixed all the little issues I've been having and it's running great, no leaks and afr's are really nice. breaking the motor in on 14psi and jeez, the just rips. I wasn't expecting it to feel like this lol. I'll do pulls at 14psi (track boost) and 18-20psi (just to see what it makes).

think there was an issue with the enthalpy tune, so i put my stock maf/injectors/ecu on there for now, wastegate is at around 12psi and suprisingly enough i have enough injector for it, i havent logged IDC's, but my AFR is fine at 12psi, waiting to hear back from enthalpy so i can put the other stuff in and crank the boost.

AS for the cobra, I dont think it was that hard to fish the elbow up between the steering and tranny. If you have the money the cobra is a great investment. Only 1 piece and the flex pipe is in the right place so it doest drag over speed bumps like other shitty downpipes w/ integrated flex. If your EWG like i am the dual chamber/ divider is kinda pointless and maybe restrictive tho!

Pointless yes but hardly restrictive I would imagine. Also it's not really difficult to install, just takes some time to get it in... Small girlish hands help to lol

Hell ya that is close. I'd love to see the differences between JWT and Enthalpy. I know Cody has some good comparisons already, but more never hurts.

While more 'results' can lead to information, I think it's only fair to say that both products will run within 95% of each other at any given setup. I was fortunate to have a comparison car at my disposal(high Wissy) and a dyno as well (Hi Mott)

The car was dynoed on the same day, with the same conditions, and nothing else changed but the actual ECU. It's hard to find something as exact IMO without entering many different variables.

With that said, I've been in cars with both tunes, and both run really well, and I wouldn't hesitate to run an Enthalpy or JWT setup at any time...as in the grand scheme of things, they work better/produce better power than almost all 'tuned' setups in this range of power, namely due to most tuners not knowing how to actually tune. Don't get me wrong a competent tuner can find more power everywhere, but to find that 'tuner' is few and far between.

AFR is one thing, timing/detonation is another. I'd be very hesitant to push a stock setup with a modded setup.

according to NDS im not pulling any timing. i did a 3rd gear pull today attempting to get some data to plug into an excel based hp estimator i found on EVOm, the datalog didnt save, but the passenger watching it said the ecu wasnt pulling timing. its only temporary until enthalpy sends back my ecu, hopefully before friday

I'm confused, you're saying the timing values are locked? When you go into boost, NDS should record your specific values on the .log file that you can view, or export to excel. I wouldn't trust any sort of HP estimator online either, there are way to many variables to go over.

I still am unsure that I'd be pushing 12psi with a 2871r on all stock stuff. A t25 car at 14 psi maxes everything out, let alone a turbo flowing more air. I'd turn boost down a little and log it again, jut to help prvent any sort of melt down.

for some reason i cant open the log file, and its only 1kb, i dont think it actually logged. the excel file im referring to is supposedly pretty accurate, enter weight, gear ratios, drag coefficient, and frontal area and it spits out a dyno chart. evo guys use it and its pretty consistent to an actual dyno for them.

yeah, so injectors/maf were pegged at 5600rpms. whoops. better take it easy until i can get my tune and injectors back in lol

edit: also, finally got around to installing your ac bracket today, ac is nice. belt was half an inch too long though, had to get another, no biggie. now to figure out why my stock ac clutch wire isnt working, had to hotwire it for now.

Yea when you said AFR was good I was realllllly doubting it haha. Good thing you noticed it too, woulda been a shame to melt the engine down.

Awesome Odd the belt didn't fit though ...hmmmm it was the 365 belt right?

In regard to have it not working, check the pressure switch, that's usually the culprit for them.

yeah, can i jump that connector to see if the ac hot wire comes on? fuse and relay are good and the light is on in the cabin. yeah i bought a 355 belt. got lucky and found a s13 dohc ac compressor on ebay new in box reman for $75, same one rock auto has for $300+ core.

pressure is 30 on low and 190-220 on high, so thats good. thing is ice cold, its a beautiful thing. only thing not stock ka is your bracket and the low pressure line i had modified to clear the turbo inlet

Yea some of the low pressure lines do need some bending, but that's nature of the beast when it comes to these. I know on some top mount setups some members have taken the hold down tabs off the line where it bolts to the firewall, to allow more room.

And the price of compressors is freakin crazy for sure...heck CarQuest doesn't even list availability of them anymore.

Lol, well it's fast man. I turned boost up to do some logs, and it'd just too much for the weather here in Portland. 20psi is seriously nuts, power comes on violently.

Ha yeah when I used to dd my 240, I ran 19lbs and would loss traction everywhere. The backend would come out on the highway if I put the peddle down too quickly. Stretched tires and Portland rain don't mix 9 months of the year!

Also I'm a smaller turbo so the boost comes on a little sooner.

Well I'm lining up another Dyno session with a local shop. I'm looking forward to what I make this time around with all of the little issues we had during the last session are all sorted out.

I will probably be able to post another chart before the end of the month..

Now i have to figure out what my issue is. Car runs fine on stock injectors, stock maf, stock ECU. when i drop in the DW 810's, enthalpy ECU, and z32 maf, i get issues. Wideband shows full lean at idle, car idles rough, etc. I was too chickenshit to take it for a drive with the idle like that. Adjusting fuel pressure does nothing, ecu seems to compensate for it. Sent my whole ECU to enthalpy, Martin put it in one of his workers' car with an almost identical setup, and it worked fine. Im thinking it has to be a closed loop issue because when i unplug the maf, AFR drops to 9:1. Tried 2 mafs, one known working, same results. Also tried adjusting the fuel pressure, etc. TPS and timing are set correctly. Injectors are brand new from DW, have the flow sheet and all.

To get the most out of my 2871, I've decided to go a bit balls out with my head

Ported and flow matched
JWT valve guides
JWT S3 cams
BC +1mm oversized valves
Brand new valve seals, valve locks, rockers, springs and retainers
Tomei RAS
