NCDA night drift, April 7th
NCDA is putting on another event at Altamont on Apr. 7th from 4pm-10pm. It's a sweet 16 tandem competiton (door bars recommended -- not required), and the price will be $50 or less. I'll post up more info as I come across it.

WHOA!
Just checked out the NCDA website. They post that its may be every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the months from April to October!!! If so, I'll be there as often as I can! saving up some money every other week for a great time is pretty reasonable! Any projections on the pricing?

More better information.
--- NCDA will be hosting evening drift events at Altamont Raceway and Arena in Tracy, CA. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from April thru October, consisting of: April 7th and 21st May 5th and 19th June 2nd and 16th July 7th and 21st August 4th and 18th September 1st and 15th October 6th and 20th Thursday evening schedule: 3:00–4:00 PM Gates open/Tech open/Registration 4:00–7:00 PM Track opens, cars run autocross style (1 at a time) on main course, with skidpad open in “outer oval paddock area” OPEN PRACTICE SESSION 7:00–10:00 PM Competition Begins, open to all participants, single run eliminations to sweet 16, to best 8, to semifinal 4 to final 2, winner 10:00–11:00 PM Clean up and exit the facilities. Schedule is subject to change. Pricing and final information will be provided soon. --- FYI, pricing will be $50 per night (per Don's post on NCDA forums), with a discount for people who purchase a "membership." Further details will be announced soon. I think its time to start supporting events in NorCal.. cus if this doesn't work, I don't think anything else will. We have to come together as a community and get this going if we want a place where we can do and drive without the hassles associated with mountain runs/etc. And this really should be moved to the appropriate regional forum... ;p |

went to altamont before.... i LOVED the sweeping left hand turn!!! super badassness, wonder if they fixed the inner area though, when I was there, cars were tearing the pavement up. I cringed quite a bit hearing sounds of pavement making contact with wheels accompanied by flying chunks of the road.... can anyone tell me if they fixed it?

So yeah, that area where the mini-course/skidpad was set up the last couple events.. is still borked. And will be for the forseeable future. HOWEVER, the main course isn't part of that area, and you won't be driving on it. The skidpad will most likely be set up there, but it will be in the least fucked-up area. :P Per Don there will most likely not be enough room for a minicourse, just the main course and a skidpad, but that is subject to change, of course. |

IF he gets 40 drivers for the first event, and things do not go smoothly, the amount of drivers will be further reduced. There is no minnimum. The events will run there are 4 people or 40 people. |

I'm sorry to announce that Night Drift today April 7th has been cancelled due to rain. Altamont has a strict no rain policy and mud has flooded onto the track.
