Seized sr20det

What’s up guys. So just joined the forum and really wanted to get some input. I just got into the schassis game with an sr but the s14 has a seized? Motor. Reason I question seizes is because the kid I got it from said it started sounding funny so he stopped running it. I towed it home and went to turn the crank and it’s pretty much stuck. Anything I should look at first prior to just ordering a new engine? Or any tips to check on prior to the major year down? Any help is appreciated. Please bare with the newbie

pull the plugs
make sure the cylinders aren't full of fuel
crank engine

if that doesn't work,
remove the starter and then try to turn the engine over by hand (and by "by hand" I mean, with a breaker bar and socket, on the crank pulley bolt)

if that doesn't work, engine prob has internal damage and will need a full teardown/replacement engine

So I tried those and nothing worked. I even checked all pulleys. I checked piston height and they are even. Like in pairs they are even. I put a 3ft breaker bar and got not even a budge. I think I’m just gonna look into a new motor. Maybe chain stuck? Maybe something stupid or real damage? I haven’t drained the oil yet. Wanna see it there’s bits and pieces. Hoping to salvage it but doesn’t look good smh.

Sounds like the motor is fucked. Pull it out the car, disassemble it to find the root of the problem..either fix it properly or purchase another enine to install

Don't rule the trans out, could be in neutral, but not really.

Pull all the belts off, pull the starter, and then try, if still no pull the pan and if thats clean, pull the trans and try again.

In all honesty, if its this far along, try to start it and go from there. If the breaker bar won't free it up, the starter will either

1) Free it up
2) Not do shit

So I feel like the the trans is fine because it goes into all gears just fine. When I roll the car it doesn’t seem to bind. Or would that matter?

I’m probably gonna pull it all apart. If the bearings went bad then it’s still savable right? Depending on how bad the damage is right?

If its seized, the bearing is your least worry.....

Did you drain the oil and inspect for foreign or bearing material?

+1 the confirming trans is in neutral, but youd still be able to turn the motor a little bit if it wasn't, if its that hard to turn its probably fucked

You can drive a valve into a piston and still rotate the motor if you try hard enough only time I haven't seen them rotate is after throwing a rod
