Also I dont know if its considered a gremlin but the backlight for my clock works but the digits dont, my stereo doesnt work ever since i hit a pothole..if i shake my car while the stereo is playing it will cut in and out intermittently

my tach goes apeshit from time to time, other times it doesn't work at all, and usually it works like it should.

my my hvac fan speed wont work unless its on full blast (blower motor resistor i think?)

sometimes my ignition stutters when i start the car, like its not getting power or somthing, but it works fine afterwards

other than that she's sound as a pound. s14 btw

Just bought it. The dash backlighting and digital speedo reading (along with hud) likes to cut on about halfway through driving somewhere.
Passenger window will work beautifully sometimes and other times (happening right now in my driveway) it likes to only operate when either passenger window switch is depressed down but wont operate when pressed up.
And wipers like to work about 5% of the time.
Taillights were a little dim, so I cleaned grounds and put dielectric grease on em. Theyre good now.
reverse lights dont work right now either, ill have to check up on that later (its not the bulbs, either switch or power problems...)

The other day I looked at my boost gauge out of my peripheral in my 96 S14 w/S14 SR swap, and it was sitting at 7 lbs at like 15 percent throttle, which should have been reading some vacuum at that point. it works right half the time, but I have no idea what happened to it. Its a Pro sport, not the best but t's not the worst either.

My old hatch used to pop a fuse and the tail lights and cluster would go out. Searched everywhere in the car for a short and could never find a damn thing.

my ebrake light stays on and my speedo freaks out sometimes im sure its due to harness rubbing not sure about the ebrake light though

When I lock the semi power door locks, the passenger side cocks 3 or 4 times like a machine gun before it locks

When i'm driving (in gear) the oil, emergency, airbag lights turn on in cluster. But when i disengage gear, and roll in neutral, they all turn off and go back to normal...

haven't had time to check the wiring, plus it isn't my dd, so i just have it parked.

In my Charger the parking brake light was constantly on no matter if the pedal was all the way to the floor or all the way released...

I finally found out what the problem was after thinking it was an "electrical gremlin" the whole time... the brake actually was engaged all the time

Uhh.. My oil light comes on when I turn off my car.


but when I start the car it goes away. I changed the oil and oil pressure sensor and it still dose that.

EGI relay sticks on when i turn my car on. So i have to disconnect the negative cable to get the relay to click off because if i dont it will drain my battery. Tried different relays but still sticks on. I still dont know what it is. I hate it...

Same here, but now my car won't start.

During and event I came back and parked the car. It would not start again and the EGI relay was buzzing.

If I pulled the Alternator fuse (75amp) I was able to start the car but the cluster, radio, etc. wouldn't work. Then I was able to put the fuse back in and drive fine.

Now it will not start at all.

List of problems:

With EGI relay and ALT fuse in the cluster lights up without keys in the ignition.

If I press and hold the Cruise Control OFF button, lights go off and everything looks normal. Relay stops buzzing, but car will still not start.

I'm not getting voltage to the starter signal wire when the key is turned.


It's driving me crazy, any suggestions?

So on my 96 s14 ka-t when on full boost, when lights are on the dash cluster flickers.. (also flickers while turning sometimes)
one day out of no where my airbag light started flashing.. im sure its probably just a sensor.
i replaced my dome light with a multi led dome light and it flickers when the passenger door opens.. but works perfectly fine when driver door opens

I think this happened after I put my electic fan to a fuse

If I turn the key on (without starting the car) and then off, the brake and door light (in cluster) stay on, and it will drain the battery. I have to literally start the car and shut it off for everything to be off.

On hot days or when I use my 240 a lot that day, when I either signal left/right or throw up the hazards, the lights will stay frozen "on". It even shows up on the dash as "on". Not blinking or anything. They'll stay until i flick the hazards off and on repeatedly until they start working again, and even after that, they'll still freeze up.

I have the same crap. Also, when I lock the driver side door, the passenger side doesn't lock occasionally; I usually have to fiddle with my side before it locks the other side.

not to many problems, but my 240 with a new battery will drain within a month, and my backlite on my clock flashes crazy anytime i have my key in.

None of my lights work. In or out.

This just happened out of the blue. At least my HIDs/high beams work. Didn't find any bad fuses so I don't have much of a clue.

When I flash my hi beams during the day with my pop ups down they come up, then both headlights come on, then the left side goes off and the right side stays on... Then they don't go down till I turn the lights on and off...

Frayed through the wire harness under the driverside fender and caused my wipers to short out. Re-soldered them back together, replaced the fuse and now my intermittent wiper setting doesnt work properly and I have to time the wipers to shut off to get them down. High and low settings work fine. Changed out the green wiper box and TCU, but it still does the same thing. So annoying when it drizzles! lol

had to remove door jam because if i rolled the driver side window all the way up
reverse lights used to stay on anytime the car was on but now dont work at all

my gas gauge moves up and down depending on my left and right turns.Already changed the sender and that helped a bit but meh, Pretty annoying.

one day lights under gas gauge stopped working, next day the clock stopped working, another day the light on button for switching between outside and inside air stopped working. few days later air blower stopped spinning but the light on inside/outside air switch started working again.

i think my s14 has achieved self awareness and is trying to communicate something

my house heater hvac ( not water heater ) was flashing red again. it's suppose to flash green so, i turned it off.

this happened previously before...

what the hell makes it flash red? does poweroutage or gas temp shutoff usually resets and kills the ignition?

Nothing crazy:

- Driver side window switch sometimes gets stuff in the down position, which causes my idle to fluctuate

- Pass side turn signal sometimes stops working for a few weeks/months, then without reason blinks happily like nothing happened.

- When parking my car, while i have the brake held, clutch in (about to release it so that i can park in gear) and i let it all go, my dome light gives the faintest flash of light.

- Every time i take a turn too hard, accel too hard, brake too hard,etc. my gas gauge dips down to a low point, then comes back up. Even if im going straight at a constant speed it sometimes does this.
