I'll be first to start I vouch for Eclipse. Regardless of the high price, their stuff is excellent quality (which is the main concern for this poll)

I really haven't tried out all these systems, so I'm going for the one in my car. Its a Sony CDX-M620: disappearing blackface which is also detachable, 52W x 4, and other little goodies. It loud enough for me, and gave new life to my old speakers.

I have the old model of what GT specR has, the m600 or something, dissapearing black face but non-detachable. I voted for eclipse tho, they are the best.

agreed with "silvia240" -- sony head units are fugly. -_- they seem to be marketing mainly to the rice crowd. Which, unfortunately, is where most of the money (probably) is.
i went with Pioneer -- no one comes even CLOSE to design and functionality to pioneer... look in particular to the DEH-P9300 (and the new one that plays MP3s), as well as the DEH-P8800 (or whatever the beautiful double-din one is called). Simple layout, clean looking, not cluttered, not cheap-looking (look at JVC if you want cheesy, polished silver painted plastic that LOOKS and feels like a 1990's transformer toy)... On the other hand, I took a look at my friend's $1500 Clarion head unit the other day, and must admit that it's pretty damn nice. |

Yup. Pioneer all the way! They are well laid out, chicks dig the screen savers, and extremely functional. Individual speaker control (volume, tone, bass, treble). INDIVIDUAL!

Alpine all the way baby!!!
Ive had an eclipse and sony deck but they both suck. They dont have near as good quality. Sony is just bought for image and eclipe has the worst security feature. Anybody who doesnt know that you need a cd key to start the eclipse deck up after power has been cut will steal it anyways. Plus Alpine uses hight quality materials. I've also got Alpine speakers, amps and security system and they all rock. Second best I'd have to say Rockford Fosgate. |

Dude, sonys are fugly!! Their "bombz" (or whatever) remote control looks like the Apollo rocket cockpits... you know, the things that parachuted down to earth. Not to mention the red display is just distasteful. BUUUUUT of course, "to each their own". |

u all have to realize that most manufacturers dont give the same quality along their product line, some of their stuff thats cheaper doesnt sound as good, and their better stuff costs alot, for the most part most big names have really good high end stuff, i love pioneer but i dont know for sure if its the best, but it gets my vote :-D

Overall I voted for Pioneer, nice layouts, functionality, looks, and features. I like Blaupunkt too though, very underated IMO.

Second best to no one, well mabye a few. I have never heard a Fosgate head unit, but their new amps and speakers (exclusing subs, which are OK at best) straight suck. The quality control is just not there, and the amps don't push any where near what they used to. Rockford Fosgate is just riding on a name that it built for itself about 7 years ago. Expensive crap, I would just as well buy Jensen.
