Think these are legit(ebay item)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...561541286&rd=1

I'd like to get a lift when I buy a house this winter. Just wondering if anyone on here has heard about these or knows more about them. Gawd this would make working on cars sooo much easier.

also, contact a company about getting a home style lift. I believe they make some smaller ones for home use

you should opt for a Bend Pack! My friend had one in his shop and that is what they use at the hobbie shop on base.

most cars with body kits require removal of hte side skirts to put it on a lift. This is usually because the lifting points are either covered, or too recessed against the body to clear the fiberglass

Good call. I remember with my old Eclipse I couldn't take it to too many places because of the height...I'm just starting to look. Like I said I'm not buying a house untile winter anyway.

Hmm, the lift at the machine shop my dad works at would clear and really clear with the spacers on it. It's quite a bit bigger than that though. I forget the weight limit, but they pick up forklifts here and there with it with no trouble. Maybe you should look into that. (But it was around 5k)

Nah, i think hotrodv was reading the wrong number. It says lift height of 6'. 6 feet. And then in the yellow chart it says the pads are 4" high. Go measure your frame rail height.

couple things, look into a two post inground type lift. It is, IMO, the best type of lift available. You don't have bars to hit doors on (like the above ground) and with single post in ground you can not access the underbody.

Also, the clearance on those is probably more like 4", it's the same type I used at the old shop. Yeah, alot of cars won't fit (stock S2k's, stock NSX's) but the easy solution is 4-2x4's cut with a bevel covered in sandpaper. It works similarly on a 2-post in ground.

all u have to do is drive ontop a piece of wood .. that will give u a lil more clearence so that you can use that lift on your car or build a mini ramp with a slight incline and position it accordingly so u can use the lift
