i have 4 chairs that i've found by dumpsters or just on the street
they're good for my garage. one christmas i went to see my parents and my dad had a new weight bench. i said "should you be benching with no spotter?" the next day we took it to the dump. he doesn't even think of selling stuff he doesn't need. just taking it to the dump. i wish i was as rich as he thinks he is. hahaha |

well this story is rather sad, but crazy, a friend of mine said she saw the police pull a baby out of the trash on 6th street in san francisco, a half a block away from my old place. totally fucked up. she could be lying, but i doubt it.

When I used to work retail, people (employees and customers) would throw shit away and get it out of the dumpster after hours. Possibly someone forgot or couldn't get to it in time...or it had a body parts in it.

Not really thrown away, but back at kadena, ppl would just abandon their cars whenever they left the island...soooo, whenever me and or my friends saw these abandoned cars, we would then proceed to take off any part of any value and keep it as ours...i mean, better us use it than for the cops to come, tow them, and then crush then

When I was in Japan I was amazed by what they threw out as trash. Electronics only a couple years old, furniture hell my father in law wanted to give me his Mark II when he brought a new Toyota crown.I kinda understand some people don't have time to post stuff online or have garage sells just for people to lowball or call dibs and never come to collect. I have been stalling on taking pics of old Option,Option2 and Drift Tengoku mags and random other crap I don't want to carry to storage for this reason.

i found a flare gun from the 50's once.
one time i found a guys wallet on the lakebed. how random is that? muddy water, tree branches, and i find a firefighters wallet.... or the time i found a treehouse. i found a glass pipe in the aw11 (after it caught fire) one time a guy set out a nice stainless grill, like one of those expensive almart edition ones. and all it needed was a new ignitor... |

On bulk pickup day, I found a Pentium 4 computer with a HD full of spyware. Reformat, fresh install of windows, and it was good to go.
Had a GF4 Ti 4200, 1GB ram, 80GB HD, and a 1.8Ghz P4. One time I threw out a 700R4 transmission from my old Camaro. Needed a new valve body and it was good to go. I probably could have turned it in as a core and got some cash. I dont know what I was thinking. |

I never find anything cool.
I found a dime in the parking lot at work and I got excited. I almost took the rest of the day off.

ha right on, people throw away perfectly good stuff,
we R america yay! 2 years ago I was stoked to go down to NYC to finally buy "the perfect bookcase" for my dj vinyl collection from IKEA. they make a 4x4 compartment unit that has 12"x12" spots just big enough to fit records, and trust me almost anything else anywhere else that looks similar is just under 12" so you cant fit your 12" records, very annoying. so I get back from IKEA, set it up and I'm stoked. $200 was a good deal.. ---> http://www.matroschka.se/wp-content/.../bookshelf.JPG fast forward two weeks and WTF there is a white one at our apartment complex dumpster, in perfect condition, standing up, not even any scrastches on the bottom, it wasnt even dragged to its sure-death at the dumpster.... ?!?!? and it had 2 drawers that are more $$$ to add on and it was the more $$$ white hardcoat version too. turns out one of our neighbors were moving out and didnt want it in their new house, it wasnt fancy enough and they were moving up in the world. nice huh? so I scored it for freebie and now I have a happy smile every time I play my records and see a 2nd bookshelf in the other room, thats awesome!
