Question Cooling fans killing motor ?

Ok I had rebuilt my motor and had it tuned then it blew a head gasket, so I pulled it bored 20 over polished and balanced crank, balanced fly wheel and pressure plate. I put it back in the car this weekend and started it up was running fine untill the cooling fans come on, once they come on the engine dies? The battery was old so I drove the car to Walmart to buy a new one, with the car wanting to die out at every red light. I put a new battery and still the same, and I also noticed when I got home I was parked with the car on, I turned the steering wheel all the way left and my cooling fans would come on wtf? Turn all the way right same thing? Turn it back off turn it all the way left or right they turn on wtf is going on?

Sounds like a possible wiring issue, with the assumption that they are e-fans. What fans, and what controller do you have?

I have new wiring specialties upper and lower harnesses I had the upper one in already it was fine I just put the lower one in when I put the motor in this weekend. I'm running the dual flexalite fans an an AEM v2, and another weird this is my brake light are staying on. Could it be because of the new lower harnes?

I would say take the lower harness back out cause that's probably it.

I unplugged the power steering pressure sensor and the fans don't turn on when I turn the wheel any more? But when the car is at idle and the fans come on it still dies, it seems like the fans are drawing to much power to keep the car on? Maybe bad alternator? I just put a new batt

If you have access to a dmm (digital multimeter) check to see if your fans are drawing power when off.

Also check the output of your alt, and the voltage of your battery when your car is off. Could have been sitting on the shelf too long.

Oh, CHECK YOUR GROUNDS TOO!

well I checked my alt it was pushing 16-17v, i had an old batt in the car when it started happening, i figured it might just be low output from that batt so I just put a new one in and it still acted the same,i checked the batt with car on it was at 14v. i will check the fans while off and see what i get. Im thinking that the previous owner might have tapped into power or something having to do with the power steering pressure switch because when i unplugged it the fans would not come on anymore when i turn the steering wheel? i also found this info:

" Power steering pressure switch reports power steering high pressures to the on-board computer When not replaced, engine may die during hard turns at idle and check engine light may illuminate"

well no light on the dash lights up? i have an aem v2 i assume that's why, but it does die when the car is at idle and the cooling fans come on and when Im slowing down to make a turn, so Im guessing bad power steering pressure switch? is there any way to check a psp switch to see if it is bad?
