1997 S14 Remote Locks HELP

I just purchased my 1997 240sx not too long ago. It didnt have the original key fob and appears to have had an aftermarket alarm system. I have removed the alarm completly and purchased a brand new key fob from my local nissan dealer. I cant get the car to send out the signal to program the fob to my car. Any ideas on what to check?

Are you certain you have the OE keyless? It wasn't offered in 1997 on the S14.

Look above the hood release handle, there's a control unit mounted right there, if it's a black plastic module you do not have keyless, if it's a silver metal case then you do have keyless, but I highly doubt it. You can also look under the hood by the battery for the hood pin switch since the keyless is also a security system, but again your car shouldn't have it.
