Exclamation S14 hood problems!!!

So my hood release is not working, it was working and out of no where it stopped working!
My question is... Is there another way of opening my hood without the hood release??? Like breaking into my own car's engine.
I have pictures incase you need to see what I'm talking about. I have also searched but only found articles on s13's. If anything could help me, that would be great. 😊👌

Why is it not working? Figure that part out.

You can cut the cable under the fender and use pliers to pull it.
Or use a screw driver at the front and pry it, but if I remember this will only work without a grill.

First things first, go under the dash where the cable attaches to the hood release lever, make sure the cable is still attached to the lever. If the cable is still intact you should be able to either grab it by hand or with pliers and pull it to get the hood release to pop, and then replace all damaged or broken components.

I took it all apart but when I pull it, it feels like if the cable is moving but the hood doesn't pop up. I also noticed that my hood is jammed all the way down. It has no play, like when you push it down and it goes back it. The hood is pushed in more than it should be.

Sometimes the strike is just wedged in place. Get another person to pull the hood up while pull the lever. If it doesnt budge, see if you can see the latch moving at all while somebody is pulling the lever. If its not, then the cable is broke somewhere.

I'm guessing your car is slammed? You probably stretched the cable being that it runs directly over the d/s tire. Had that happen rice to me now... Replace the hood latch cable.

Yeah, I ended up tearing up my hood release cable! I've been thinking about going with the hood latch. I don't want to have the same problem in the future with the old stock latch. I'm thinking of going with the aerocatch hood latches.

Just order a new one from Nissan and re-route it, that's what I did and didn't have to put holes in my hood.
