I've been really getting back into and now I'm focusing on the details. Since there isn't a real track for real drifting within a 4 hour drive, this has become my cheaper alternative lol

Thanks dude!
Got some d craft fender lights! I love the way these look once lit up. I added the wrap up 3D lenses material to it. Gives it a more scale look Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So, I'm thinking of getting back into things. I have a couple of Yokomo 4WD chassis and an HPI 4wd as well, but I'm hearing all this bippity boppity about RWD chassis and whatnot. Is there really any advantage to it other than it's "more real". I mean, there was a point when I was pretty deep in the game, but I haven't really done much in a few years. I've eyeballed a few Yokomo 2wd joints, but I just don't know if there's much of a point, as there's nothing wrong with the stuff I got laying around.

ditch the 4wd homie! at very least you can convert your hpi sprint 2 to a rwd car.... once I went RWD I never touched a 4wd again. RWD is more realistic, so much more control, and just over all better. you can do door to door tandems easily. 4wd is dead, RWD is in! plus it will get lame when 90% of the lads you run with are RWD and your the only 4wd....

If your Yokomo 4wd chassis is a Mr4tc or Drift Package. I would keep that and convert to rwd. You can buy the rwd kit for it which is kinda pricey but yokomo always has support and quality. Also there is so many different conversions for the Yokomo drift package or MR4TC. I myself have the Hikotech Bianca that converts the MR4TC/ DP. If you wanna start from the start again you can get a yokomo YD2 basic which is pretty much ready to go, just get good knuckles for it. Minimal amount of tuning. Also the RC comps in japan have RCDC and Yokomo Drift Meeting and the YD-2 has won 1st and 2nd in both. With a Sakura D4 (Tatsuken v2 everything) got 3rd or 4th in RCDC. There is also the D-like which doesn't need any other parts besides electronics. But is pretty steep and the new 2017 version is about $800. Setting is everything for these cars whether you want a more american style of driving or japanese. |
