Not sure why I even mention it cuz I think they're a ripoff (cuz they have sooo many participants I guess), but if you have the money to spend, yah there's autocross regularly in this area. |

Nah man... SCCA solo2 [autocross] is NOT a DRIFT event. I think hes talking about something like DDay 6 [the drift session/clinic sponsored by Signal Auto and Club4ag.com].
AutoX is just going on a cone course for the fastest time. No one drifts [on purpose]... U never hit speeds above~40mph. the turns are tight and fast so theres no room to drift. Also, its totally worth it. $45 per year and all the autoX events u want! Well, its $75 if your 21+ [im 20]... and even if its a lotta people, they organize it so u dont have to sit and wait all day. they have run groups divided by class and they tell you what time you need to show up in the grid before your run groups is up. Solo2 is the most affordable way into motorsports [lagally]

there is an event at Buttonwillow on the 22nd of this month (2 weeks from tomorrow) that will be a blast...you can either drift or grip at these private events and all the participants are very very chill people..also there are only about 13-15 spots available...so drive time is rediculous..it's not uncommon to log 150-180 miles of track time in a single day...
hope to see you around |
