RB RB25DET in an S14 (Kouki)

Alright, so I come back from a deployment, and instantly get introduced to a 240 with an rb swap completed. I paid so little that I wasn't too worried about the problems it had (Rough Idle, Low boost, hideous exhaust leak, and missing the center portion of the dash)

Now my DD is effed, so I need this car, and now that i'm driving it every day all it's problems bug me big time.

I fixed the exhaust leak by replacing the manifold gasket and having the manifold machined flat, and replacing the studs and nuts. This took care of the boost problem and the exhaust leak problem. Next I fixed a few vacuum leaks, and this fixed the rough idle.

I start it up, and it drives PERFECTLY for ten minutes. I stop at Chevron, fill it full of premium, start it up, and everything seems fine. I try to pull out into traffic, and my car is suddenly slower then a geo metro. I can hear the turbo whistle and when i let off the throttle i can hear my bov (recirculated). But I get no power.

If I try to WOT my car, it barely manages to make it to 4300 rpm, however, if I slowly add throttle, I can make it to around 6000 rpm. And if the car isn't under load (in neutral) I can clear what I believe should be redline of 7800 rpm.

I have an aeromotive fpr set to 43 psi, and boost compensated, walbro 255, ngk coppers (checking gap tomorrow), compression test will be done with plugs. Also, the car runs about twice as strong and bogs less when it's cold, don't know if that helps or not.

Any advice would be great, this is my first turbo car, and I already want an LS1 to replace this thing...

First and foremost, check your CAS timing. Wouldnt hurt to put the engine to TDC, restab the CAS, then shoot it with a timing gun to make sure its lining up with the 4th mark from the left on the main pulley. Also, since you said it runs crappier when its warmed up, wouldnt hurt to replace the ECU water temp sensor (2 pin water temp sensor) on it.

Fresh plugs never hurts and a new o2 sensor.
