.48 a/r 3076r, does anyone have experience?

Hey, just wondering if anyone on here has experience with 3076r turbos with .48 a/r turbine housings? To me it seems like it would be too small, but i would love to see some dyno charts or at least hear some first hand experience. I have an RB25, but info on a turbo like this on any motor would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

i didn't think that they had that small of a housing on that turbo. interesting to see also. i'd guess it would react alot like a top mount 2871 but have a little bit more flow. but with an rb25 i'd just get the .64 housing and enjoy. lol

The GT3076R's compressor is already very much borderline too big for the GT30 turbine. Going smaller turbine housing will only make matters worse. Just go GTX3071R with a .63.

yea, thats what i WOULD do if i was choosing between two new turbos, but thats not the situation. I have an opportunity to pick up a used .48 3076r right now, thats why i am considering it. Also i would not get the gtx3071r, too expensive, gt3076r .63 is more on the money for me.

I just would like any information on this turbine housing. Like ANY real world numbers on an SR or RB.

Also, if i get this used .48 and it turns out to be too restrictive up top, couldn't i always buy a .64/.82 housing and swap it in further down the road?

Its tooo small it will spool like all hell breaking loose & quickly fall off & create nothing more than excess heat in the exaust, because it will be a restriction in the exaust flow .

It would be good for short burst, max spool, just approacing 100% throttle, type driving. But dont exspexct any big peak HP numbers & heat management will be trickey..

Can't have increased flow in and decreased flow out...

Hmm alright, i guess i could swap the housing later, but i might as well just wait till a .64 comes up for sale.

I'm already having issues keeping the RB cool enough, so i don't want to add to that.

I appreciate the info and opinions, it helped make my decision.

Yeah go with this or just go with the .63 T3

The sizes internally are quite close. If you're trying to keep the GT3076R you are better off keeping the stock Red Top Intake Manifold. This makes a huge difference and you will still have plenty of top end power out of the turbo. Your low end will be much much better than the Greddy though...however on the S14 you are better off with the Greddy plenum imo.
