#OpGetToTheTrack

What's crackin Zilvia? My name is Kevin, im from Huntington Beach, CA. I Picked up a 1991 240sx SE back in October 2008.

I got her knowing she had some serious knocking, but I was looking for a project. Before I even started looking for one, I have been lurking forums and learning what I can. Decided that I would attempt my first engine rebuild, rather than jump on the sr20 bandwagon.

So the fun begins. Fenders, bumper, and hood removed. Pulled the engine out. Oil and dirt was caked everywhere! So far the only rust was in the battery tray.

Cleaned the engine bay up a bit. I plan on going over it one more time before the engine drop.

A/C crap was all removed. Couldn't get my hands on R12.

Got an Energy master bushing kit. Moog ball joints all around.

Tore the engine down and found a broken rod bearing. Split in half! All of the main and rod bearings were done.

Dropped the block off at the machinist for a .20 bore, hone, and deck. Got the crank grinded, balanced with some Manley rods and fresh oem pistons. Did some painting here and there:

Next I did the head. Full rebuild, Crower stage 1 cams. Nothing too special.

Rebuilt the oil pump.

I got all new coolant/heater hoses, fuel lines, vacuum hoses, and belts.

Painted the rims ( looking to trade them if anyone is interested ) 16 x 7.5 offset unknown

Sadly about 800 miles later, she started to knock slightly. I didn't take any chances and ripped her out immediately. Turns out a few rod bearings had a little too much clearance. Oh well, I decided to swap in an SR rather than rebuild the KA again. So I parted out the goods and purchased a s13 blacktop.

I am in the middle of the swap right now, so far she is bolted in and im trying to figure out the rest of the wiring.

Thanks guys! I am excited about the SR! Forget about that KA
Most of that over spray wipes right off.
There is a lot left of the KA, if you need anything let me know via PM. Ill let most of it go cheap just to get rid of it. I already sold the rods, pistons, camshafts, (both sets) and the valve cover.
I am going to finish up the wiring harness today after work, and get my gauge's set up

Almost there

Almost done with the swap, but I need some help! I can't figure out how the wires from the security system mate up with the new engine/harness. If anyone knows how to wire up the engine bay portion of a security system, PLEASE send me a PM!!! I can provide more information about the system via pm. Thanks!
