2JZ Swap Brackets/Mounts

So I've been looking around for the brackets to do the swap and just had two questions that I couldn't find an answer to.

1. The transmission bracket that is included, will it work with the W58 transmission or only the R154?

2. Since they are only brackets, can you use any off the shelf engine/transmission mounts?

HMS/Hybrid Motorsports make a good set of mounts that utilize S-chassis motor mounts, stock or aftermarket.

I dont know exactly on what brand your talking about? But with most swap kits, not all u need to tell em what tranny your running. An with motor mounts again depending on brand most the time you can use stock 1JZ/2JZ mounts & sometime even KA/SR Mounts but it all depends on brand

as your questions in this thread it should help more

Tech2 includes mounts but if I'd like to replace them they don't specify what's compatible with their brackets. I would assume the 2JZ factory mounts will fit their brackets, but I can't find a 100% answer.

They also don't specify if the transmission bracket will work for a W58. It says to add $150 for a V160, but no other information.

As for the eBay ones, they specify the transmission bracket is for a R154 but I'm wondering if it would work for a W58 as well. I have a W58 sitting in the garage and the mount for it looks like the mount for an R154.

They also mention that the engine brackets will work with stock or aftermarket mounts, so one would assume they are referring to the 2JZ mounts. I doubt anyone will have much information about the eBay set, but thought I'd ask anyway. I've already contacted the seller as well.

I have Zerolift mounts which are basically improved ruckus racing mounts. The ebay mounts are a rip of the ZL/RR design - but made in China. I honestly would say to buy the ZL mounts if you can make the money work.

As far as isolators (mounts) I have a pair of Driftfreaq engine isolators and a driftmotion poly trans mount. The engine sits well, although it's the wrong size in all of the wrong places. Oh well...

TLDR; Ebay mounts suck, tech2 stuff is mega expensive, JZ's are rad.

Sent a pm....

The ebay kit is designed to use a 240sx motor mount....either stock, nismo, avid, etc.

The trans mount is designed for the R154 but could be modified to accept the W58 by simply drilling out the new trans mount bolt pattern. Its been done before and can be done that simply....mock up, mark bolt location, drill holes, drop right in.

The eBay mounts are a bit sketchy, but I've heard people run them without any problems and since I plan on running the engine stock for the time being, they might not be so bad.

Tech2 is way too expensive, and I was actually interested in ZL/RR but after a ton of searching I can't find anywhere to buy them.

Not sure why people think Ebay mounts suck when 99% of people that use them have had no issues or very small issues which can be fixed. I dropped the engine in with the brackets and had no issues. Only reason motor came back out is because I am overhauling it with the OEM gasket kit which to me is easier done with the motor out of the car.

Anyone that has had issues with ebay 2jz mounts speak from experience?

So far these people have posted that ebay mounts worked for their setup:

I wouldn't mind getting the Tech2 kit but it's just WAY too much money. Maybe if I planned on doing a 600HP+ build I'd buy it, other than that there really is no point.
