S14 Power window during rebuild

Hey guys, have run into an issue with my power windows. I need to get them rolled up on my S14 but I am currently in the middle of a rebuild on the engine. Not sure if I need the engine harness in to get power to the windows. I have tried just hooking the battery up to the positive terminal at the fuse box and got nothing except for the time display in the gauge cluster. Any help is much appreciated.

Unplug window motor and apply 12 volts to the prongs in the plug, power and ground. If it dissent go up or it goes down, reverse polarity and it should roll up

Thank you! I was trying to avoid pulling the door panel but if that's what I have to do then so be it.

You can hook the battery back up just tape your starter and alternator leads. Make sure you have a ground hooked up and battery isn't dead.

Ahh alright, those leads on the engine harness. I'll give that a shot tomorrow.
