looks like crap, like i told you before, shouldn't have painted that shit on the floor and why not just do a base/clear instead of single stage. you would have been much better off taking it to someone who has painted before.

I've been painting since 1989 and I know the excitement of getting your first ride painted. Your car would have come out nicer if you would have pulled everything. Nothing looks worse than when a car gets sprayed Macco style. The whole car should have been taken apart. And the more you spend on your paint the better. The clear I use on my cars is $350 per gallon and that does not include the hardner or reducer, and the base color can range from $100 to $250 per quart.

One more thing. The flexable eurathane high build colorprime I use comes in white and has more shine than whatever paint you used. Sorry if I'm being too critical.

Go over it twice with 2000 grit meguires, finish with 3M 3000 wet grit on a da sander. If you can find Farecla advanced one step compound and use the Farecla orange cutting pad, you wont beleive how fast your paint will buff out. I have tried many different brands and have found Farecla to be the best.

I'm no expert either, but i was under the impression that once single stage is laid down, there was no fixing it...
you either redid it or lived with it... If you wet sand & buff it out, you'll be damaging it's natural barrier (like clear coat) and it'll start to oxidize within a couple months.... Sorry for the Thread Jack, but i think the OP could use the answer to this as well... |
