I'm not sure about "worth it" but they sure are more expensive! I wouldnt mind getting the TD06-20g though.

hey, im thinking about buying a new intake cam. as as i keep the lift the same the brand shouldnt matter right?
the HKS step 1s have 10.5 lift but i want to move up to a 264 duration cam from another brand with the same lift. any input on this would be great. thanks! also, what would be the benifits of going with the ATP external set up? does anyone have any reviews on this so far?

Hey guys can you recommend a wastegate actuator that I can use with a gt2871, my aem boost controller sucks and would rather control boost with the actuator.
Thanks in advance. |

Some more tinkering got this out of her. The super low TQ bugs the hell out of me. Gonna throw some cam gears on her and have them degree the cams (bc 264's) and see if that helps.

well I finally collected my GReddy IM, Q45 throttle body flange, and my Q45 throttle body so i'm taking the car down to Mike at Canyon Racer to have the welding and install done!!
hopefully that will let me boost to 18psi and actually see a change in power!!!!

To all 2871 .64 turbo user on this thread, at what RPM do you hit full boost?
From what I read this turbo should be hitting full boost at 3800rpm but mine don't hit full spool until 4500rpm. I've tried lower boost setting 12, 14, and 16psi and it's the same thing. This is on a redtop sr20det built motor and it's not the clutch cause there's no slipping the power just climbs all the way to redline but not until 4500rpm. any thoughts? |

I have the BC stage 2 264 cams and a Greddy Intake manifold. i'm trying to get full spool at 3800rpm. I have a friend who has a HKS gt2540 and that got full spool at 3500rpm, I kinda want that turbo.
So you're saying that the BC 264 and Greddy IM is that reason I spool so late? So even if I switch over to a S15 OE turbo it would still spool late? |

intake manifold should make a noticeable difference in spool. as well as cam duration. an s15 turbo would spool slower than it would compared to if you had stock IM and EX mani and cams

Come on guys, a aftermarket intake manifold actually slows down the spool of the turbo. You lose low end and gain high end. THat is just how it is. Duration, manifold and timing makes the biggest difference in spool time. A 2871R is going to spool slower than a gt25 frame, but its going to make more power.... people actually need to read this thread not just ask questions some times. lol

Yeah I wanna get it and the slimline v38mm is like 2.5 inches tall, I think I measured and it clears no problem.... Just need the funds. I priced it out it. The frame is 350+tial which is another 200 so its like 600 with taxes and all the bs. Dunno if it is worth it as 2871R setups especially on my car spools up fast enough.... Its pretty pricey and a LOT of work....

I got a question for you T2871r gurus.
My T25 is blown but I have a T2871r sitting around. Can I take the stock wastegate off my T25 and run it on my T28 ? The T28's wastegate is modified for 15psi, so I dont want to use that. I also have a stock hg, if I keep it at 7psi will I still risk blowing my headgasket if I don't track the car? I want to do this just so I can get my car running while I wait for a new T25. |

The T2871 is not adjustable (lengthen the rod)? I don't think the T25 will fit from what I remember....
Stock headgasket is paper bro.... it will blow from overuse.... F.. Paper gaskets...

That's what I was thinking, damn. I wasn't planning on running the T28 for long, maybe a week at the most just so I can get around. Back to the drawing board I guess. .

Well if t28 for a week dun worry about it... nothing is going to happen, but if you going to track it, paper gaskets ain't going to be happy.

I was all about getting the 2871R. 86, however I'm really leaning towards the 3076R .63
If I do go this route, hopefully I won't be disappointed...

I just use taka or circuit sports lines. get new lines so you don't strip the block. Also make sure you are using a restrictor on the oil line because the new lines don't come restricted and risk blowing your turbo...

Make sure its top mount and not weak ass bottom mount. Look up steveshadows, he has one that is running 400WHP on a Dynodynamics... Probably the best tuner around...
