Your opinion.
Looking at purchasing a vehicle and I need someone's opinion. I know how to properly check when buying a used vehicle and plan on having it looked at by a mechanic. All I'm asking is what you guys think of the build and if it is worth 13k. He has receipts for about 30k and the build has 9kmiles and the car has 200k.
His post as follows This is one of the nicest examples of a 1995 Nissan 240sx you will ever see. The car is pristine with fresh Gunmetal Grey Metallic paint on a flawless s14.5 Silvia conversion. All four fenders are perfectly widened, 20mm front and 20mm rear to fit 17x9.5 +12 & 17x9.5 +12 Rota grids. Professionally tuned to a conservative 450hp at 20lbs of boost on 93 octane, this 240sx has a custom built ka24det motor and drivetrain capable of handling upwards of 750hp. *Body* Custom 20MM Widebody Rear Fenders OEM Nissan s15 Headlights OEM Nissan S14 DMAX Tailights DDM Tuning 8000k HID High & Low Beams OEM Nissan S15 Hood OEM Nissan S15 Radiator Support Version Select S15 Version 2 Front Bumper Version Select 240sx Version 2 Side Skirts Version Select 240sx Version 2 Rear Bumper Origin Labs S14.5 Conversion Fenders 20MM *Engine* Motor built by Redline Performance in Asheville, NC Custom tuned by HIS Motorsports in Hickory, NC Ka24det Built for 750hp Duralast Gold Race Battery Eagle H Beam Rods Wiseco Pistons 264 Brian Crower Cams ARP Head Studs Walboro 255 Fuel Pump Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator 20G Garret Turbo HKS SSQV BOV HKS Air Filter Synapse External Waste Gate Mishimoto Radiator Mishimoto Fan Shroud Mishimoto Front Mount Intercooler Custom Intake Manifold Custom Blue Ridge Motorsports Top-mount Turbo & Downpipe Custom 3" Stainless Exhaust Trust by Greedy Catback 650cc Fuel Injectors AEM Fuel Rail AEM Series 2 Standalone Engine Management System Viscous Limited Slip Differential Competition Sprung Ceramic Stage 5 Clutch *Wheels/Suspension/Brakes* Rota grids 17x9.5+12 all around Wheels CST Pro Series Monoshock Coilovers w/ Adjustable Camber Plates Infinity Q45 Brakes Vented/Slotted Rotors *Interior* AEM Tru Boost Gauge AEM Wideband A/F Gauge AEM Oil Pressure Gauge Custom Mounted Pillar and Door Gauge Pods Pioneer CD/iPod/MP3/USB/AUX Receiver Pioneer Speakers Front/Rear Silvia S15 Spec-R oem Steering Wheel Sparco Shift Knob Sparco Pedals |

13k? Dude you're better off getting an E46 M3 or a Supra and mod that, instead of a headache. Not just that, but for KA-T? Negative. Would understand an LS or 2J/Rb26 swap.
Save your money and trouble, and keep looking. |

Q45 brakes and Rotas?! ROFL! Would I pay $13k for a 240? Hell no. Those HP numbers seem fishy to me. Get dyno charts. With those parts, I'd say that price is about right, but there's just no way in hell I'd sink that much money into a KA.

Seconded. Either get a stock 240 and build it yourself, or invest in something more ballin'. With that kind of money, I'd be looking at E46's or S2000's. The last thing you want to do is inherit someone else's project.

You can drop 13k on a car that might blow up in 20min or spend 13k on a nicer unmolested car (e46,s2k,z,etc) that you don't have to worry about exploding.
I'd start with a car thats nicer than a 240 if you have that kind of money. Building your own car is half the fun anyway.

First off, who ever list a gawdamn Duralast battery as a mod list needs to get punched in the face. Second, this owner seems to be pretty fucking clueless on his mods. 20G turbo is NOT a Garrett Turbo. Third, no fucking way in hell a 20G and 650cc injectors will get you 450whp.
Ultimately, it's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. Some owners think their car is worth $17k because they threw $20k on it. |

I dont like the car and dont think its worth its asking price. Its very 2001.
More importantly, the turbo is too close to... everything. |
