did both the line to the front and to the rear the earl way. worked out great for me. for anyone doing it to their hicas i would recommend getting a 6ft hose from then and cutting a 4ft piece and a 2ft piece.

and TheGrim i had the same problem with the rack end leaking. i just put teflon tape on that end and it fixed it... but i didnt use a washer.

I always have one made, what fitting is everyone using for the rack? You need to have a fitting with that o ring or its suppose to leak, none of the part numbers or anything show the fitting with that rubber seal. Because the place where i get mine made that one fitting is almost 40 bucks, so i'd like to find it cheaper and buy it separately.

Update!!!!

For those making their own line, you need to get a 14mm x 1.5 ORiNG!!!!! adapter for the rack and pinion side. Otherwise it will leak. I'll try thread sealer and see how that goes.

Do you guys thing that the diameter of the hose is smaller maybe??? and not enough flow??
I have been having the same problem. Just recently my pump started to smoke along as if its not getting any fluid. What could be the cause of all of this? It looks as if the pump is simply not pumping because theres like no change to my reservoir.

ok like an idiot i used PS fluid instead of ATF, and right away my BRAND NEW rack, yes brand new from the store started leaking. Could this be from the PS fluid? Is it too late to switch back to ATF? I HATE LEAKS. Thanks. It leaks from the hose in the middle of the rack.

Fail... I had a massive leak coming from the hose and i figured out it was because the bottom fitting wasnt even fully threaded into the rack -_-

I know this thread is old... had mine for 4 years now and it failed earlier this afternoon. It had a burst somewhere in the middle of the line.

Any idea what could cause this, failing pressure check valve in the pump?

With the missing brading it looks like chafing like 4x4 said. It does not look as if it burst out spreading the braiding out.

This is a good reason to revive a thread though.

it could possibly be chaffing, BUT, it was tied away from the frame rails not touching anything metal. and when it went out, i heard a LOUD POP right before the sound of rushing fluid... =[

Bump!

Anyone else want to chime in on the quality of the ISIS lines? I'm about to purchase one as well. My lines are leaking like crazy...however I did put P/S fluid in them earlier since the previous fluid leaked out.

Hope the seals are still ok.

Anyone know what went on the side that went to the rack I got my line and I lost the thingy that was on that fitting is it an o ring or washer? Or am I tripping balls? It's not the side with that lol baby o ring. The other end of the line. And what's this about not using power steering fluid. But ATF? The hell is that?

Nissan uses Dexron ATF as power steering fluid. Increased viscosity and heat prevention. If you use mineral powersteering fluid like what BMW, Volvo, Mazda, Audi use it will leak
