well.....no engine is made equal...engine's are made in a asyembly line.....so they arent perfect out the factory....what you can do is grap a helms manual, and take your whole stock engien apart....u will have to get new gaskets like head gaskets and other gaskets that arnt reusable....clean the whole engine out and then put it back 2gether with the exacpt specs that they r suppose 2 be...like torque and other little things.....i've seen as much as a 30hp gain from an old engine

I've done a little reasearch on this almost free horespower. Aside from the timing thing, I didn't come up with any thing other taking off the resonator. and you already have a CAI. The only thing phrase that comes to mind is nothing in life is free

less weight = less power need to get going. dont fill your gas tank all the way - you will be lighter and will run faster. keep it full in the winter for better traction
gas is heavy |

If you have an AC fan, you could easily take of the main fan and just leave it at that. Your engine temperature will go up by like 5-10degrees, but the AC fan kicks on after you reach certain temperature. You should feel some gain past 5000rpm.
I wouldn't do this in the summer though... |
