s13 Time to play name that plug

hey everyone, new to the forum and to s13s. I'm tryin' to undo some of the mess the PO made to my new 1990 240.

So I need to find out what this plug was intended for. Any help would be great.

Thanks

sorry, its definitely NOT your consult plug, as the early 240sx didnt have one. its the old style 'diagnostic' plug which is almost useless (compared to consult).

the consult plug looks like this:

but dont worry, its not supposed to have anything plugged into it

only 89-90 S-chassis has these plugs. KA24E does not have consult so it would not have a consult adapter. I believe this huge black plug is for a different type of nissan 'scanner tool'.

That one is something different. I have that too on my base model coupe.

I believe it's for foglights. Not certain though as I've never looked into it.

It would plug into a button on your gauge cluster bezel.

I def think it's for Diagnostics. Seems a little too much of a harness for fogs. Kind of odd that its way over there away from the ECU though lol.

This is definitely not for diagnostics. There is a dimmer (red/yellow) wire connected to it so it's clearly a connector that connects to a button that would be on the gauge cluster bezel.

It would more than likely be connected to this button (fog light) as it is installed right below the pop-up button. Also, as people should already know, our cars are pre-wired from the factory for fogs.

Where did you get those pics? What year model? my fog light switch is on the right side by the rear defrost & hazards and I have a separate plugin on the back of my cluster..in your pic where the fog light button is is my cruise on/off buttons..just curious on how you got your "certain" answer.
