Losing my mind! ( Vibrating )
PROBLEM:
On decel coasting to a stop sign in neutral I get this weird vibration around 1200RPM. It will only stop if, 1. Car stops, if the car is moving even barely it will continue. The second car completely stops the vibrating stops 2. Brakes are slightly applied (once released vibrating will begin again). Feels like a side to side vibration. Notes: Car will still vibrate with car in 1st and clutch pushed in when coasting. On start up and idle when stationary car does not vibrate. I tested this with the motor cold and warmed up and at 1200rpm. When driving car does not vibrate. Even at 1200rpm. Motor runs perfect, perfect compression. Motor mounts are good. Any ideas????? Rotors are brand new all the way around. Same goes for tires. Alignment is perfect.
Wheel bearing would cause it to feel like a bounce not a side to side shake. Last edited by SMM; 01-20-2012 at 01:00 PM.. |

Figured out the problem.
S13 transmission rear dust cover is different than the s14 one. Causing it rub the driveshaft. Take this off and it will be fine. So when using a s13 KA trans on S14 car, make sure you shave down or take off dust cover on the rear of transmission ( black ring where the driveshaft slides into). My car is an s14 with s13 ka trans. Another thread for reference: http://zilvia.net/f/s-chassis/400977...wing-down.html |
