basically the only big parts I have left I need is mounts, (which I am actually just sent you a PM about) a FPR (either fuel lab or aeromotive) the power steering adapter stuff from chase bays a drive shaft (local place is gonna do it for me) headers possibly exhaust. (I have an apexi n1, I may just modify it to work until I can get something a little better.) shifter relocation (might make this myself) an ECU, and to get it flashed. and to do my wiring harness. so not too much! I am trying to do this right. I am skimping on the parts I have used that I know are good, but overall I am trying to build this right. with a lot of nice stuff that may not be necessarily but I really want. so far I have 2004 vq35DE with tranny, 0 miles on rebuild with full forged internals. ACT lightweight flywheel and clutch chase bays fuel line kit, (REALLY nice, overpriced a little but worth it for me.) chase bays clutch line 255 fuel pump the full wiring harness should be awesome. mostly all my spare cash has been going to my other project is the problem haha. |

UPDATE.......
well i got a bunch done to the car yesterday trying to get her ready to go. i hit a pretty bad stopping point however...when i press the gas pedal i can hear a change in the idle but the car does not rev..i can manually open the throttle body and it revs just fine. and with the maf unhooked im assuming i get limp mode and it has a low low rev limiter. other than that my radiator is in as well as the cooling fan and i let her idle yesterday for about a hour trying to burn out that bad gas. ill get a video tomorrow and see if i can pickup the change in idle. i've tried relearning the gas pedal and resetting the ecu with no luck so far. 350z/vq swap gurus step in? i currently have no o2 sensors since the exhaust shop forgot to weld the bungs.and my engine bay and interior looks like spaghetti.

I actually got the project off Irax...
it'll start up , somewhat idle, press gas pedal it'll lag to rev then die out... I was told some sensors need to be grounded better (have to find and test them all I suppose) and it might also be bad (really old) gas |

Sup guys I've been swamped here lately. I've got a fair amount on my plate I've been working more overtime than what's probably lawful, my wedding is coming up on the 15th of july, and I just bought a house that im fixing up. The great news is that the project is still going strong.
Its over at q'fab motorsports getting one of the best wire tucks money can buy. But im sure your tired of all the excuses how about a couple of pics? Tons of unused wire removed And the engine bay with nothing but motor in it. More to come so don't forget me. If you want to check q'fab out here is there facebook page Q Fab'd Motorsports and Wiring Specialists - Local Business - West Columbia, South Carolina | Facebook

I am pumped! Oh, happy day! Finally it runs. Halalulia! I finally got it to give me a code that indicated a problem with the crank sensor and cam sensor. The two work together to tell the ECU what position and RPM the engine is at. What I found was that the cam sensor had a prong that was bent and not in it's hole in the wiring plug. As soon as I found and fixed that it fired right off. It only runs for 20 seconds or so and then dies but its a start. Any ideas?

TIME FOR ANOTHER UPDATE!!
So as im sure you guys have guessed this project has almost come to a finish. ive been driving it around for a few weeks now, i had to send the ecu back in to have everything extra turned off, that was the problem with the safe mode. the first day after i put tags and insurance on the car the oil pan sprung a huge leak..... some to find out i installed the oil pan gasket wrong on the rear and it slashed it, i pulled the pan off that night and fixed it it was cold as crap and the next day it was snowing. no other hiccups other than that. A small disclaimer for anyone who will be attempting this swap as i am sure anyone who has already done this swap will tell you its no joke. my first great idea to make this swap a little more sleeper like was to keep the stock se rims 225's on the back and 215's on the front.....bad call the first third gear pull i attempted on a cool damp day set the car sideways quick! so i put my saleens on it with some 255's the car still chirps 4th on the right occasion. if your going to daily the car and still make some track time in make sure you get some good baffles for your exhaust, the 2.5" setup i have going into those 2 cans made me a very high profile car with the police with normal driving. the powerband on this car comes in hard and fast, i will be swapping out for a j30 rear end very soon those 4.08's make speeding too easy and the gearing is pretty short. i do alot of 2nd gear starts. start thinking about those z32 brakes now now what you really want to hear about driving experience this car is a blast! just respect it!! every gear pulls HARD and at highway speeds in 6th it will still put you back in your seat. the weight balance feels near perfect (ill try to get it on a scale soon). and the gas mileage is exelent i drive 50 miles a day round trip to work i can drive there and back every day with just 7 gallons. how about some pictures and a video? you'll have to excuse the quality using my ipod touch for pics till my new phone comes in. new wheels to help cope with traction trust me your gonna want to use these if your running headers and duals to two canisters did i mention i love my saleens justin collins did a great job an the wire tuck and fuse box relocation that should give you a good idea of hood clearance on a hood with the bottom supports untouched stay tuned there is more to come, cant wait to test out my gopro with this thing.

It's good to hear your car's running now. Can't wait to see videos of it in action on the street. Btw how much did the swap costed without mentioning all the time and hard work needed to accomplish it?

Check the first post for details, some of the parts have gotten cheaper since I started but I've got $3880 in it for just swap related parts and the shell

I see you said you have 3880 (or at the time had 3880) into your swap but that included your shell. also as you said prices have gone down on some parts as this swap has become more popular. but onto my question. I already have my s14 and I am wanting to do this swap. do you think I can do it with $3500? my engine is slowly dying and id rather not keep the old pup on life support anymore ha. hope this gets a quick reply!
