No Mario Kart = No care!

Seriously though, $150 for a controller that I may smash on the floor when playing a Mario game is a bit much too pay.

Also, after playing an hour of Skyward Sword, I felt like I had to turn in my man card. Stupid game.

If you didn't hear Nintendo dropped a bomb last week and announced a shit load of games, including one that WILL get me to go out and get a Wii U, a Wind Waker HD Remake. And they aren't fucking around. This is a serious REMAKE not just a rer-release. Look at this gallery.

I figure I will get a Wii U eventually just like I did with the Wii, but a remake? HD or not I can't see paying money for a game I already own.

Did you look at the pics? Wind Waker is one of my all time favorite games. Like in my top 25. Easiliy my favorite Zelda game too. I haven't played it since it came out and would love a reason like a complete HD make over to enjoy that world again.

So today Nintendo announced a boat load of new titles. Super Mario 3D Land for Wii U, Mario Kart 8 Wii U, Donkey Kong Country Wii U, and Smash Bros for both Wii U and 3DS.

Looks like they actually have a lot of system selling games coming out now over the next year or so which they desperately need. I don't know if this was enough to completely turn the system around, but it's going to help certainly.

I was really hoping for a HD Metroid and Zelda game though more than anything. As much as I love Mario, I feel like it's been Mario overload the last year and a half.

I was hoping they were going to announce something brand new, but overall I was happy with what I saw.

The rest of the internet is angry about it for some reason, even though they showed the first party games they were asking for.

I'd like to add that I think nintendo does need to do a $50 price cut since the ps4 is so close in price. A price cut and a surge of games worked well for the 3ds, so it could do the same for wii u.

Totally agree with that. I'd lie to pick up a Wii U in Aug in time for WW HD release but now I'm wondering if they will do a price drop for the holidays.

I'm betting on this. Without any killer games, ala metroid, zelda, etc, Nintendo doesn't have a lot of option to move units.

You know what I really wish Nintendo would do? I wish they would make a console based Pokemon game with the Wii U. Think of the potential. Online play, the controller screen could be like what one would see on the gameboys with the action on the tv. That would move some consoles. I'd buy.

I disagree. Just because I wasn't super impressed doesn't mean I don't think they are going to sell systems with what they showed. I mean mari Kart has historically been their biggest system seller and Super Smash Bros one of their biggest.

Plus they technically do have their HD Zelda with Wind Waker HD.

I think the games they showed today will help sell systems. People have been asking for the big 1st party games and thats what they showed.

I still think the ps4 being priced so close will hurt it during the holiday season though.

My friends and I have discovered a few friendship ending Mario games on his Wii U.

First is Super Mario U, up to 4 players and a fifth can play as "God" with the screen game pad, having the ability to put platforms down to help access areas. However, we figured that wouldn't be as fun as trying to kill each other in a race to the end. So u have everyone in game trying to pick u up and throw you off the level, blocking you, shells flying at you. Then you have God basically shoving platforms in your face as u try to jump, blocking access to tubes and mushrooms etc. Most fun my boys and I have had in years. Add in alcohol and shit gets nuts. Definitely try this if u have a Wii u.

Second is some mini game in Nintendo land. Its basically tag, and its surprisingly fun, can't believe its never really been done before. The one who's being chased has the pad and the ability to see the whole map and where the chasers are coming from and looking. U got 2 min to evade them. Simple in.concept but good lord is it fun. Oh and the game pads camera is always on and projected onto the TV for the chasers to see. Which just adds to the frustration and hilarity. Watching your friend visibly taunt you as he evades you in game almost cause a fistfight the other night. Ahhhh such good times.

I think the Wii U is for the most part just going to continue doing its own thing like the Wii did and not really affect much. The Wii U is of no competition to the Xbox or PS4 in terms of power but if it follows in its older brothers footsteps it will do just fine. Yeah it may have smoked everyone in sales last generation but it was a hell of alot cheaper and generally accompanies a PS3 or a 360 in the entertainment center of most gamers.


Edit: Well never mind it may be a contender this time around. Apparently Xbox and PS4 preorder announcements boosted sales of the U almost 800% in the UK yesterday.
