The wastegate that came on mine was set at 10 psi.

This is when the length of the rod EXACTLY is such that you can barely slip it onto the flapper arm.

I recently added cams and needed to preload the wastegate to help combat the flapper opening at higher RPMs.

5 half-turns to shorten the rod (and then you have to pull on it hard to get it to reach the flapper arm) resulted in my boost going up to 12 psi just off of the wastegate.

Ya i blew my manifold to turbo gasket and have the turbo sitting around waiting for a standalone and some bigger injectors, so i thought it would be a good idea to put the gt28 in rather than put the t25 back in as long as it wont blow the engine

um....

well you can't just driving around with a T28 and stock ecu.

you are gonna need a fuel pump upgrade, injectors (should go 740cc in case you are gonna eventually use the turbo to its full potential), a good tune.

also you should get an electronic boost controller.

honestly, you should just plan to get tuned for the week after you do the turbo swap.

You can "limp" the car there on the stock ecu and stock injectors without a problem if you stay out of boost or don't let more than 1-2 psi build.

That's what I did to get my car to my tuner's shop when I added my 2871R....drove 100 miles.

As long as you don't boost it, you should be fine, especially if you are running off of a MAF sensor.
