Final Bout
Date: August 30th and 31st, 2014 Time: Saturday and Sunday 8AM – 7PM Location: USA International Raceway, W5901 County Road BE, Shawano, WI 54166 Hosted by: ClubFR Final Bout is the personification of an idea most grassroots drivers have known and loved for years. If you’ve ever watched a DoriTen video, flipped through the magazine, spent hours on YouTube watching grainy, lower-than-VHS-quality videos of your favorite drift heros, then you will understand Final Bout. Final Bout is a two-day team tandem contest taking place at USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI. This will not be the run-of-the-mill team tandem competition based solely on driver’s ability, but in fact a competition judged by team unification. 50% of each team’s score will be based on a car show - judging the cars presented as a team. Teams will be judged on unity and style, based on team colors, livery, car style, and general car presentation. The remaining 50% of the team score will be based on team runs and tandem skill. * We have some great judges coming out from Japan and the US, and we will make a full length DoriTen style DVD showcasing the event and all of the teams participating. Some of the best teams from all over North America are coming to battle it out at USA International Raceway. USAIR is one of the most unique tracks in the US. For the drivers that haven’t experienced the track, prepare to be challenged with its back-to-back-to-back elevation changes, blind corners and constant variety of driver inputs. The facility will be split up into two large courses and both tracks will run simultaneously to ensure that everyone who makes the trip to USAIR goes home with whiplash, an ear-to-ear grin and no tires left to spare. The event kicks off on Saturday morning and will consist of the car show portion of the competition. Immediately following the car show, team tandem practices will begin. By midday we will begin the team tandem competition. Upon completion of the judged runs, teams can continue driving on our secondary open course. By early Sunday, team judged runs will be completed. *After the competition we will have open runs for the rest of the day into early evening on both tracks for everyone to enjoy. Bring them tires!!!! USAIR has plenty of space for trucks and trailers, feel free to leave your trucks, trailers, or cars overnight on the USAIR grounds throughout the weekend. FOOD: There are a few restaurants around town. Typical fast food restaurants, and a few pretty good places you’ve never heard of. On track amenities, USAIR allows propane grills, there is NO CHARCOAL grills allowed in the pit area. There are two propane grills provided by the track that are free to use. The track will also be providing on site food grilled by a local vendor for some great Wisconsin Brats and Burgers LODGING: There will be on track camping allowed, if you need electricity for a camper please contact me and we can get that for you for a small fee. There are a select few hotels in the area that are short driving distance from the track, we are working on a discounted rates for these hotels and will have information up for that soon. For more information regarding Final Bout, please contact [email protected] www.clubfr.net

You pay at the door. Pricing isn't confirmed yet, but expect somewhere between $5-$20 per person.

Man, I wish I want to be there so bad. Will their be others like this? Being in college and trying to participate in drifting/drift events has proven quite difficult lol.

Hot Boyz wrecked their SR20 Miata into the wall chasing the ProceeD Supra thru the corner, made my day more than exciting.

I got invited to step in with Hotboyz since Jordan smashed his miata.
We got 4th. This is acceptable, especially since I had no intention of competing, but just wanted to get a bit of track time in during the open sessions. Jack and Eric are amazing drivers and I couldn't be more stoked on this entire event. This has literally been the best drift event I have ever participated in, and, for me, equally as exciting as first American drift events, a decade ago, when top level d1 drivers first showed us how it's done. I can't possibly express enough gratitude to simba and ilia and the rest of proceed, to phil from ClubFR, and USAir for hosting, as well as the amazing judges. And also Autofactoryrealize Gets automatic last place for not showing up. :P |
