HELP!! My SR is leaking!!

So I just bought an s14 w/ a swapped s13 blacktop sr20. The motor essentially runs fine (cept for a slight idle issue) but im pretty sure the motor is leaking oil from several locations. From what i can tell, the oil is only leaking towards the front of the motor. I've attached a few pictures to help clarify the locations i'm talking about. The first and what seems to be the main leak im assuming is due to the front main seal, but tbh i really have no idea and thats why im posting. The other leak looks to be forming right below where the head and block meet, on the right front side if looking at the engine from the front of the car. I'm gonna end up taking this to someone to help diagnose the issue, but i was hoping i could get some feedback from you guys as to where you think the leaks might be forming and why. Thanks in advance.

Looks like it is leaking from the front main seal, but hit the block with some brake parts cleaner so you can better see where it is coming from.

looks like a combination of many leaks. I see some coolant on your oil pump cover which points out a bad water pump. As far as the oil leaks: look for the highest point of the leaks, which looks like the top of the oil pump cover like you mentioned is leaking. Get a new water pump, some rtv, a crank pulley remover and go to town on that shit. My front cover is leaking a little bit of oil next to the a/c compressor mounts just like yours is; they all do this.

easy fix. change your oil pump cover and front main seal. you dont even need to take off the head. hardest part would be the cams/timing chain but easy enough.

If hes just removing the oil pump cover to reseal it and install a new front main seal, he doesnt need to mess with the timing chain.

mine is also leaking from the top of the oil pump so i first try re-sealing the front main seal around the oil pump and also both oil pans but after a week or so it started to leak again so i just ordered a new oil pump from nissanparts.cc or just hit up RusselM and see how he can hook you up on it. hopefully when i change out the oil pump it will stop leaking and messing up my engine bay.

hey thanks for the replies, i really appreciate the help. so it looks like just for the sake of completeness ill be picking up a new water pump, oil pump front cover, and front main seal. has anyone changed the oil pump cover before and can you comment on it? will i need to be using some type of liquid gasket to seal it?

The new oil pump/front assembly cover comes with a brand new front main seal installed so all you need to buy is the oil pump/front cover and the water pump. You can royally screw a lot of things up installing the new oil pump so take your time and read the factory service manual or at least have someone there that knows what they are doing if you are unsure. Main concerns: you will need a large pulley remover to get the harmonic balancer off to get to the front cover, and try not to bend or destroy it when pulling it off. Make sure and clean all the gasket mating surfaces really well or it will leak again, make sure you get a new oil pump o-ring that goes in the oil galley on the block behind the front cover and also make sure you install it lol VERY IMPORTANT you will be fucked if you dont. oh yeah and I use the red high temp permatex RTV on the water pump and oil pump, pans, valvecover, etc
