Whats the Quietest exhaust?

hey, thanks for reading. I recently purchased some DC headers, and am wondering what's the quietest exhaust to put on my car? I want to get something better than stock. At least something that looks better than two little tailpipes sticking out. haha! Thanks again

quietest other than stock? Dump the muffler and change it to a different muffler and keep the stock craptacular 2.25" pipes with 90 degree bends.

You want quiet? Run custom, 2.5 inch pipes or so. High flow cat, resonator, magnaflow/flowmaster muffler. Shouldn't be much louder than stock at all.

You have a few choices. They are Apexi N1, HKS Hi power, Blitz realize tt or one of the Nismo NA exhausts(you have to source one of these from Japan though). All of these are relatively quite. If you decide to get Apexi or HKS make sure it is 65mm/2.5 in. in diameter otherwise they will be loud. If you are lucky enough to get Nismo exhaust get it and do not think twice about it you will never regret it (I had Nismo on my Zenki and absolutely loved it). As for Blitz I do not have personal experience with them but those who get it seem to like it (also it would probably be the most expensive one). Good luck.

I've sold and installed dozens of different catbacks, those three are the best choice for quiet/performance. You might check into the RSR exmag, those used to be pretty quiet, I haven't heard the newer one though.

RS*R Exmag. I think the piping is 3 inches so it might be too big if you're running all motor. I've got that on an rb25 and all I can hear is the motor.

i know they have one for s14s but im not sure about s13s
its only 4db louder than stock according to the db sound test thingy. and also it looks stock

but they also cost $800

apexi gt spec 115mm with active tail silencer, irvine crew can vouch for how quiet this setup is.

i'd say the RSR. i attended a track day once and asked my friend how it looked, his response was something like; "we couldnt hear you coming, looked like a red car just hauling ass silently around the track!"

I have a 5zigen Fireball Exhaust on my car and I'd say it's pretty quiet. It doesn't attract much attention from pigs if that's what you're looking for. At low rev's it has a nice low deep rumble but at high rev's it gets quieter. Good add on power too. If you really want to know how it sounds here's a video...

YouTube - rsx 5zigen fireball exhaust

It's got pretty good reviews for it too on carreview.com, it's rated 4.67 out of 5.
