Ka24de e85
No questions here just wanted to share my experience with e85 since there isn't a whole lot of information out there on s chassis and e85.
I took my turbo kit off because I'm having a baby and goin back to active duty but missed the power. So e85 was too easy. My set up Ka24de 248/248 cam Z32 MAF Sr370cc Custom long tube header 2.5 in exhaust w/cat unknown muffler Apexi SAFC Short ram air Ngk plugs 10.2 mm plug wires Walboro 255 fuel pump Z32 fuel filter Fidanza lightweight flywheel Spec stage 3 clutch E fans w/no clutch fan No power steering or a/c Goods: Noticable gains all over powerband! Low end is great! 60-100 super smooth and way faster. Dropped a second off 0-60 time. My exhaust tone is much deeper and a little louder. Bads: Gas mileage = 22 mpg on mixed driving mostly in town Less places to get fuel Changed fuel filter twice and fuel lines got clogged once Tempted to stay pedal to the floor and launch at every stop. If anyone has any questions let me know I'm happy to help anyway I can and I encourage everyone to make the swap!! |

If you had a way to tune it right (i.e not an SAFC) you would find better gas mileage and an increase in power, too. You can easily add 4 to 8° of timing ... if you did not do that, there is no way it is faster than on standard fuel.
edit: there IS a way though... you could just change the base timing. Which is not a good idea, as the increase in timing is not linear across the rpms / load . |
