5 bolt vs. 6 bolt axle bolt difference?

I recently pulled my open diff with 6 bolt axles and installed a lsd i bought from a friend with 5 bolt axles. I had to reuse the bolts that hold the axles to the output shafts and it feels like there is just a little bit of play in them.

Also, I torqued them down really well and after a few weeks of very light driving some of them have come partially loose.

the 6 bolt axle bolts that I have look like this...

Does any one know if 5 bolt axle bolts are slightly bigger (larger diameter) than 6 bolt axle bolts?

if so, I'll have to make a trip to the hardware store

Yes, 5x1 flanges have a larger bolt than the 3x2 flanges

Just measure the diameter of the hole and buy some Grade 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers at the local hardware store in the length you want.

Axle bolts have a bigger shank than threads and I've only seen parts store stuff break because the bolts aren't tight in the flanges.

You can either j/y for some bolts from a j30/z32/other 5 bolt car, or you can also but the bolts new from the dealer (I've done that before).
