Talking s14 ebay intake install upgrade air filter guide and review

well i just thought to make a write up for this ebay intake and review on a ebay intake with hks air filter (knock off i think) on s14 but s13 is almost the same

well im only limited on pictures as of right now but i hope you guys can ready figure it out . ill be very discriptive.

thing your going to need:
3/8 drive
3/8 extend
8mm and 10mm socket and deep socket
flat head/ philps
and scissors
and pliers
that should be it

first buy the kit off ebay only 35 bucks!!! s13 and s14 are different not uni.
and whatever airfiter you want (the one it comes it is a pos so anything will be better)
80mm inlet hks filter i only paid 18 shipped knock off or not it does the same thing right? make sure it is 80mm inlet
WARNING:::: do not use it with turbo cause it will fuck shit up... not washable either it will fall apart and get in your engine... also only last about 3,000 miles i believe just check it and dont hessitate to change it.

and may need extra boot for hks filter ... i did 3''-3''

procedure: (TAKING OUT)
make sure car is not hot.. you will burn yourself
loosen clamps with the 8mm and unplug the maf and sensors
take the maf off and unscrew the 4 bolts with 10mm for the adapter and put aside and also the one screw on the side of the car cant miss it
now unscrew the sensor with the phillips and make sure to grab the bottom piece looks like a wash that fits perfect with the sensor
now put aside the maf
now take the 10mm and unscrew the 2 nuts to take the bottome of the air box out save the nuts .. put aside
now unscrew the screws with 10mm thats holding the intake pipe should be 2
take you 8mm and extention and loosen clamps at the throttle body and take your pliers and take all the hoses off (the breather, small hose on the bottom, and the vaccum hose)
now take it out .

procedure ( PUTTING IN)
getting started
take your maf adapter and maf and get the 4 bolts(make sure there is alittle screw port on the side of the adapter face it towards the engine)
if the maf adpter doesnt line up just make sure it is good to just scew a bolt in it will be fixed later
screw in the bolts as the bolt head is facing towards the motor and screw it in with the 10mm extended. may have to use some elbow grease but it isnt hard
now put the sensor in the top with a phillips screw in the senser and have that washer thing on the bottom it is what it uses to hold it in
now put the reducer on and tighten the clamp

open your box and take it all out and lay it on the ground( or do whatever just dont lose anything)
take your 2 clamps and rubber pipe reducer and install it on the throttle body
now put your aluminum pipe on the ruducer tight the clamp but not to tight for which you are going to be adjusting it later
intall the small hose on the bottom
now install the maf and tight clamp and plug it up
now is for the for the cutting the kit only gives you one breather tube which is to long and when you install you u will find that out.
cut about a 1'' off then cute about 4-5 inches off for the vacuum hose cause the stock one is to long you can cut it our just do what i told you your choice also the stock one might be all messed up do to age... if you do not mod this you will have idle issues
now install the breather tube and tight clamps and vaccum hose(use stock hose clamps for vacuum)
now get a 3'' intake rubber boot thing to fit on the hks fiter and dont worry about the adapter size along as you got 70mm it will work the 60mm ones you may have to go to autozone and get the 3''-2 1/2'' boot (if your s13 they sell adapter that is already 3'' so no worries)
now put the boot on the filter and clamp and instal it on the adapter tighten clamp
now the kit comes with 2 brackets one short and the other one is alittle longer grab the shortest one and grab the bushing with 2 screw points on the end. and washer

break the rubber bushing where you get the washer and screw out.
now you put the bracket on the screw on the bottom where you took the air box off of and put it on the screw closes to the cab of the car
screw it on with a 10mm deep well with the nut that you saved
now put the washers in between the bracket and maf adapter, slide bolt through the bracket to screw in to the adapter. tighten everything up and make sure nothing is loose

optional:
taking the bottom air box off cause you dont need it.. its locted by the wheel under the car .. right side facing the car
3 screws 10mm i think

now reset your ecu unscrew neg. battery terminal and let the power drain out of the car for about a hour i guess honestly dont know how long.

now you have a badass intake enjoy the cool sound that does really do much lol
