Stock height: With KYB AGX/Eibach Pro-Kit (slightly taller tire, 45-series instead of 40-series): I've got Silk Road coilovers now. And they are pretty comfortable, though I can't compare them to any others as I haven't ridden on any others. edit: I just looked at the meta data on that first picture. Taken on 10/6/1999. Damn I've had those wheels way too long.

Also, my one rear shock was squeaking like a mofo, and I asked what I should do about it in this thread. Someone said to grease the top hats, which I did and the noise stopped. Well today it rained for the first time since, and the noise is back. Any suggestions on a more permanent solution? The grease I used was standard black automotive grease. |

For the most part, an intercooler is an intercooler. The cheaper companies are capable of producing an IC without it being a complete POS. The thing that makes the difference between name brand and knock off is the amount of R&D that went into them. A Greddy FMIC is gonna be pretty spot-on in terms of fitment, and will probably come with better quality hardware. A cheapie will work, but you may need to get creative to get everything to work as it was intended to. Personally, I think the best deal for a moderate turbo setup is the Godspeed kit. Its a complete kit, has pretty decent fitment, good reviews, and is $250 shipped. Its a decent balance between name brand and knock off, IMO.

Im looking into doing a KA24DE OEM cam swap while the motor is outside the car, (being rebuilt) I wanna go with the 248/232 setup. other forums say the power production is great throughout the powerband. you only lose a little bit of top end over 248/248 and you gain more low end than you get with any other swap besides maybe 232/232 setup, it supposibly loves the low end tq and has decent mid-range up to 6500 rpm.
Now to the question if anybody can answer...whats the stock lift for both Intake and exhaust cams on an s13 KA, which cams need to be swapped in/out, and which cam needs to be advanced/ retarded, how many teeth? tnx for the help fellow zilvians. s13's run with a 240/248 duration and s14's run with a 232/232 duration...idk about retarding or advancing anything tho, dont u just need to swap one in and take one out? |

How do you get out the two bolts on the tension rod? I've tried hammering them out and they wont pop out. Am I supposed to just use two different bolts for the new tension rod?

Power Folding Mirrors Question
I accidently bought S13 Power Folding Mirrors thinking they were for an S14.
Does anyone know if they are interchangable at all? or do i need to find S14 mirrors only? Thanks for the help. |

No, the taper on the ball joint on the S13 LCA's is different from that of the S14 LCA's. Not to mention that you will also need to either drill out your coilover mounts to accommodate the larger S14 bolts or get the little collars that are inserted into the S14 knuckles to work with the S13's smaller bolts.

Ok, so the other day i ordered all of this stuff from SPL Parts for my S14:
- SPL rear upper arms (v3) - SPL rear toe rods (v3) - SPL rear traction rods (v3) - SPL tension rods (v3) - SPL front outer tie rod ends (v5) - Tein Z33 inner tie rods - SPL eccentric lockout kit - Front steering rack boots - Front steering rack bushings Everything came in today, all of which is extremely dope quality. But i have some questions about a couple of the items. The RUCAs, Traction Rods, and Outer tie rod ends all had labels that said S13 on them whereas all of the other parts were labeled S14. The RUCAs and Traction Rods look damn near identical to their S14 counterparts, so i am assuming that they are interchangeable. If that is so, then the only thing really in question is the outer tie rod ends. I was under the impression that the taper on the ball joint is different between S13's and S14's. If this is so did i accidentally receive the incorrect part? I know SPL would not try to intentionally screw me because they are a super legit shop. im just wondering from anyone that has purchased these particular S14 parts from them before had the same labels on the boxes? Basically what im getting at is, do they just throw S13 labels on all of that shit because it's interchangeable anyways? kinda like the S14 PBM coilovers come marked as S15 Coilovers. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks. |

Disregard previous post. I went back to their site, which i should have done in the first place, and noticed the tab for Product Info. I checked each of the parts i had in question and they are all interchangeable.
