"I didn't know you can put that fat(225) a tire on stock wheels."
They will fit, but its not good for tire life, they are so mushroomed out that they will roll over easier and cord the outer edge, but stay on top of tire pressures, and flip them on the rims a couple of times a year and you will get more life out of them. Nice to see so many "gorip-o" 240's out there, I'm new to this forum, been auto-xing for 6 years now, and I havent seen much interest on other forums, they seem to be more interested in some other contest in which you burn money and destroy cars. My 240 is SM'd with the obligatory SR swap, tomei lsd, 500/350 GC's, koni, and a bunch of homade parts. I have been running victo 700's 225/50/16 on a set of 16x8 but would like to move to the 245's for next year. I havent really been impressed with the new Hoosiers, I ran them on a friends M3 half a season and at the Pro-Solo in Wendover, where I got brutalized by Vic Sias. For next year, I would like to upgrade to the 245's as I said, and re-valve my off the shelf koni's, and while I am at it change a few things with my suspension geometry that I dont like, gonna have to stiffen the chassis but I cant afford that for a while. Would like to do many other things... (stupid steering rack bushings) but I probably wont do any of them and will just end up driving other peoples cars anyway. P.S. for anyone that cares I started out campaigning a 4dr gs-r in STS. ARG! |

a friend of mine has a 99eclipse and runs the 215/45 azenis on his 16" rim, and they bulge a little bit, but not much. And those are 16x6, so I figure theres a little room to play with. I dont really want to go down to a 205 (didnt think they'd offer enough grip for my 27oo lb. car). And every 15x7 or so rims i see, NEVER clear my z32 front brakes. Anyone know of any factory 15 inch rims that are more than 6inches wide taht clear z brakes. The only reason i say factory rims, is because they're usually cheaper, no matter what make/model their off of.

Updates on my off-season:
my car, getting some mods on: Pics of the roll-cage, finally installed: Ordered my sway bars (tanabe), energy suspension bushings, will go with 9/7 springs on my D2 coilovers, ordered my battery relocation kit... so much to do still.

see i dont have the money for all that, and we dont even really have an offseason down here. We've got a 'winter' season, and a 'summer' season. So its more or less an all year around thing.

I just started autoxing this season. I plan on running in STS for awhile. I had to reinstall my emissions stuff which sucked, but we'll have sniffer tests around here soon, so I thought I'd get it out of the way.
I plan on sharpening my skills on my current tires, and slowly max out my mods in STS. Then I'll probably get some Azenis and someday move on to DSP.

One of my friend uses it on our local auto-x forum.. Just wondered where it's from. Espacially that our club always meets up for some beers after an event.

its funny you asked, theres a little story behind it. Me and all the guys were at hooters one night after an autoX event, hanging out eatin wings and watchin the rest of the game. A friend of mine was trying to get the waitresses number, and kept harrassing her. We tried helping him out by talking amongst ourselves about how great he was (so loudly that it was obviously directed towards her). She asked 'geez, are you guys a team or something?' 'Yea i said, best damn drinkin team around, you know, you should really give him a chance.....he knows he got a racing problem, but he's working on it'. I just told her all of our girlfriends said we have racing problems, so to quit we took up drinking. Thats how that little saying became famous around my group of frineds.
