Piston seals?
I am pulling the head of my motor and was wondering since the motor is out, should I replace the piston seal rings? I know they sit in the block and not the head but since my motor will be out and I am replacing stuff, is it worth my wild to swap them out on a Red Top? I don't if they need to be replaced but I figure better safe than sorry - any opinions?
How hard are they to get to once the head is removed and the top of the pistons are exposed? Or must I remove the crank

changing piston rings while block is in the car is not something u want to try. yes it is possible, but on our cars it involves dropping half of the front suspenison so oil pan can come out just to access rod bolts.
1 not fun. 2 no where near worth the trouble, if u intend to do it, pull motor, itll be cleaner(hence better job) and way easier that way |

you minus well but then you minus well change the main bearings, rod bearings and studs. I mean no use in taking one thing out and leaving old parts in. Shit your half way there. I wouldnt just do the piston rings because the bearings and all the other stuff mentioned would suffer because of age/wear.
