That's the point.

And for the record, you would build boost. The internal W/G is a choke point - some flow would still pass through the turbine.

Its cool, I only have a PhD in Mechanical engineering, while most of Zilvia hasn't taken a class in physics.

Sigh.

I would say, from your setup right now, a blown motor when the turbo spikes.

Where did you get your degree at? An online college? You're recommending his method for boost control is to unhook the wastegate. That's a really good idea buddy. Somehow you think this is a safe method and that it will build 7-8 psi? Good god you must be one of those guys with a PhD and still works at Walmart.

Maybe if this was on a larger displacement motor it would build boost but on a 2 liter low compression motor there's no way it's going to make 7-8 psi with the flapper wide open.

Oh yea, I've taken university physics 2. It's apart of the degree program to be a geologist.

If I was to make a guess, I'd say in the 260whp-290whp range.

My roommate put down around 220whp (DynoJet, I believe) on his stock T25 with intake and 3" exhaust running 12psi.

If you have a question about your injectors, you could send them in for flow testing. Our turn around time is quick, 1-2 days.

Feel free to PM me or shoot me an email. I'm on Zilvia everyday.

I have a black top with stock HG, all stock internals and the same turbo, Z32 maf, tuned ecu, 550cc inj. And I'm running 25psi high boost on C16 fuel. With 365whp for 6yrs now no prob. So it can be done.

Good lord, can you read? I didn't say he would make 7psi, I said he wouldn't make more than that - meaning i'd expect a couple psi of boost at the most, maybe a spike to 5 or 6.

It depends a lot on his exhaust setup. Have you ever run with the wastegate unhooked?

Please, tell me what about it would be unsafe?

If you have a new OEM head gasket, with good head studs (ARP) is what I run, you can run a GT28 all day with alot of boost.

Sup 50k miles on my SR first ~15k were with T25 doing the whole 15psi to 12 at redline thing and then the last 35k have been on a GT2871R with JWT ecu bigger injectors blah blah blah STOCK headgasket the whole time, stock headstuds stock damn near everything inside this impressive little motor. I got a healthy motor and it's been tuned properly the whole time. I've had it set at 18psi since the day the clutch was broken in no issues, no hiccups, just boost.

Let's take a moment and use this thread revival to remind ourselves that internet rumors are just rumors and we should all find proof of concept before believing that the strong head gasket designed by the talented engineers at Nissan is going to explode into tiny pieces because we upgraded our turbos.

Hey guys glad to see people chiming in with real life experiences and not rumors like stated earlier. Here's a little update on my build.

Car now has cosworth 1.5 metal gasket due to a very unfortunate mishap on my part and a bent rod. Note to self, don't put coolant line to manifold. Duh!

Anyways got enthalpy ecu, magnafuel fpr and all the parts listed in the begining. Car starts but idling rough and smoking so I cleaned the iacv, new plugs, ordered new coolant temp sensor and gettin new o2 sensor tomorrow. Oh, also adjusted tps to .045v per fsm. So hoping I can get it running good and get it on the road asap. Ill keep everyone posted and try to get some pics up.
