got it, a lovefab mani, all I/C piping, new Sard racing bov, FM, and a dp for 2k... the mani alone was 1800 after he paid for it to be ceramic coated.. itll be on as soon as i get a 44mm WG

Yah with stock exhaust/intake manifolds, you should be able to reach 350ish or so.

drove my 240 for the first time since the tear down for the build last august.
it sucked cause it was only on a dirt road but my gt287r .64 was spooling so fast. i had to be careful cause the road was so rough and if i barely opened the throttle it would want to take off. On pavement it would have beena different story.

^^^

I agree with both of these guys. I have babied my car the last 5 months since adding the gt2871r because I was running stock injectors, maf and ecu the whole time and didn't want to take any chances of leaning out and popping my motor. I haven't given my car more than half throttle in 5 months, after tueday when I get my tune I can finally beat on it. Needless to say I can't fucking wait! lol.

I expected more from my set up, but the guy that tuned it said he wanted to do a "conservative" tune on 91 octane pump gas. I was hoping to run 16-20 psi but the tuner said no way unless we did a race gas tune.

So at 1 bar on a dynapack dyno:
315whp
289wtq

Mods:
Redtop
GT2871R .64
Tomei 256/256 poncams
Walbro 255lph
740cc Tomei's
Z32 maf
HKS fmic
Greddy elbow
Test pipe
Apexi GT Spec exhaust
Blitz downpipe
stock intake and exhaust manifolds
Power FC
Greddy profec B spec II

The thin lines is my baseline when I had my stock t25 at 14psi.

What do you guys think? He tuned my AFR to 11.5 at WOT, I'm kinda new to this and this is my first time getting it tuned...Would it make more power at around 12.0 AFR?

ssac test pipe
Apexi N1 3in exh with N1 muffler
hks step 1 256/256 10.5mm lift

I was hoping for around 350 too around 17-18psi but my tuner wanted to be more conservative with our crappy 91 octane.

My powerband is pretty awesome so for now I'm still happy with what mine did at 1 bar.

Has anyone had a turbo that constantly gained boost?

On the dyno at 1/4 throttle boost showed 3-4 psi until 3800-4k rpm then it spiked to 18-19 and climbing. It did the same thing with the wastegate flapper held open.

I don't know much about tuning but the tuner said with the flap held open it should not make any boost or much at all.

I drove the car before the tune and it held 14 psi on my brand new stri gauge. I told the tuner that and he said my timing was 25 deg off and that was all it would make. I would think with timing that far off the car would hardly run at all.

My turbo was bought brand new from precision.

yeah I pulled my turbo and manifold off. I noticed where the manifold goes to the engine it was black for about a 2 inches then changed to brown and where the turbo bolts to the manifold it was also brown.

Is there any reason for that?

Is it true that dynapacks read about 10% lower than dynojets? I saw a few comparison vids online showing back to back runs on the same car and conditions and the dynapack consistently read 8-10% lower every time no matter what car.

I was kinda wondering why my numbers seemed a little low at 1 bar making only 315whp and 289wtq....

Also, is the general rule of thumb that 1 psi = roughly 20whp? If so, at 18psi I should be around 370 which is what I expected but my tuner would only do a "conservative" tune on 91 octane pump gas. I thought the gt2871r .64 was most efficient between 18-21psi....

More like 10whp per psi.

So at 21 you would be sitting pretty at about 400 in theory.

Cool, thanks for the info. Do most people run race gas or pump on 18-21psi? Most people do not state that in their posts when I am looking at all these dyno #s. I am in Arizona and it gets to 110 degrees here in the summer and all we have is 91 octane readily available so I dunno if it is that smart to run that high psi anyways in my conditions?

Nice numbers mang. Nice to see another smart 240 owner not wasting time with the tubular stuff

Your car would be an EXCELLENT candidate to see the differences in gain/loss with a Greddy Plenum.
