T25 wastegate leaking

I've got an S13 SR20DET blacktop with a stock T25. No boost controller. Running on the 7 psi spring.

So I noticed my car was overboosting. I checked the hose to 14psi, and it was fine.

I then stopped by a local shop and asked to use their air compressor to see if my wastegate was moving. I hooked it up to the wastegate hose, and when I shot the air, I could just hear it shooting straight out of the wastegate. The lever didn't even budge.

Does anybody have experience with this? What could be the problem and what caused it?

Thanks Zilvia!

What's the benefit of an aftermarket actuator?

Or you could get a Garret actuator.
I suggested HKS because they are adjustable up to 1 bar (14psi).

But what I was trying to say I that you should get a new one of any kind, as long as it new.
You never know how long the used one will last.... That Is my own opinion though.

Why add complexity and less power than it came from factory with? The actuator is doing the same thing an MBC would do in one less step.

Yeah but I don't want to be restricted to 11psi.

Lol it's adjustable up to 14psi. That means you can run 7psi if you want and raise it by adjusting it also..so you won't be stuck at a certain boost level..that's why fuego is recommending it over a mbc because it serves the same purpose but with less parts.

Damn I wish I knew that 3 months ago. I have a nice MBC laying around, would be a shame to waste it. It would be cheaper for me to just get a used T25 gate then to blow money on a fancy gate when I can achieve the same thing with my MBC which I already have. I also don't want to blow money on a T25 internal gate when I am planning to be going to a GT2871 with an external gate soon anyway.
