2016 Formula 1 Season
I thought there was a thread for this but I don't see it.
Almost halfway through the season this has been pretty dramatic. So far I am most impressed with Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and Esteban Gutierrez. Those guys are super fast. Kyviat looks like he is imploding on himself. Rosberg sucks in the rain, Ferrari is losing all the ground they made up. This past weekend I was super disappointed in the start of the race. Rain always makes it extra fun but that was nullified by the 5 lap safety car start and then pits straight onto inters. Definitely a reaction to Jules Bianchi's death. F1 was really to blame for that and they are being way too safe now. Mercedes is like a soap opera. The radio ban is stupid but they blatantly broke the rules. I hope they change the rules but they were lucky to get away with a 10 second penalty. The stewards are being super lenient on the top drivers. Baku is dope. Love the new track. Interested to hear you guy's thoughts. |

Its honestly crazy how hamilton has gained so much ground being only one point away from nico at this point, im not really into the drivers bitching about safety, act like you dont know what you signed up for, back to nico that move he did at the Austrian GP was such a cheap move homie you had the whole inside no excuses for that contact... its been a crazy start to the 2nd half of the season for sure i cant remember when i was this excited to catch F1 races...

you guys notice hamilton standing at the very front with the big wigs during the abu dhabi national anthem as well as the brazilian? any particular reason? i coulda sworn he was back in line with the other racers during the anthems in most of the previous races. just thought it was kinda weird.

Yeah, so it seems Bottas is heading to Mercedes and Massa is un-retiring and making a comeback for another year.
http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ma...n-2017-860616/ What do you guys think? Massa is one of my favorite drivers but if the car is not competitive then what's the point.

i think williams is close to being competitive. they do have the mercedes power unit and hopefully all of the aero and tire changes next season shake things up a bit.

I like the new cars for the most part but I hate those stupid vertical fins that run along the spine of the car... Also those stupid pre-wings that funnel air into the main wing, it should be against the rule book to make the cars look stupid

I agree, it does look stupid. But, aren't the fins beneficial to allow the car to corner better? As much as they would like the car to look good, their number 1 agenda in mine is to get faster lap times. And I think Mercedes minimized their fin design, last I saw.

First time in a while the good guys won! Haha I was amazed after the 15th lap the gap was only 1.5 was usually 5 plus if this was last year! i love how Merc is just making up excuses as to why they performed the way they did!

Hamilton was having grip issues and still came in second. I think the only reason vettel won that race is because of the early pit by mercedes. And mclaren was a dissapointment

well looked back at it Merc lost due to bad timing for stuck behind Red bull. by all mean, Vettel did an awesome job. flat out we don't know for sure who is faster. good job on the team timing to get him in front and stay in front. |
