Oh my I need to clean my pants. Just got back from an amazing drive, why so amazing you say?
These came in... Since I have work tomorrow I opted to just swap out the rear springs for now. I will do the fronts Sunday after work. Picture of the spring height difference. About 1" shorter. Not a problem because there was plenty of threads left on the body to go. All snugged up and ready to roll. I hate taking pictures at night with this lame ass phone so that's all I have for now! Will update once I do the fronts. But let me say, these springs are SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!

Swapped the front springs earlier today.
They were about 1.5" longer than the stock HKS spring. Good thing I had enough threads to spare lol. Installed! Officially HKS Coil'd + Swift spring'd out! 7kg front / 6kg rear. Now either Monday or Wednesday I will go for a final alignment.

Finally got a new phone. HTC One X for AT&T. Decided to do a quick walkaround the car.
Watch in 720p! I was unable to get an alignment today, as my tech was off. Probably won't be able to get it done now until Monday.

The final piece to the suspension puzzle has arrived!
GReddy rear strut tower bar. Before: After: Once I get the alignment done, it should all come together like I have planned.

Alignment is done. My rear toe was horrible as I expected.
With this much toe in my tires were fighting against each other, it became real apparent in the rain. Not fun. In order to prevent rubbage I ended up doing -5.0 camber in the rear. A bit more than what I wanted. So I'm thinking when I start diving into the body work, I'll do a SLIGHT roll and pull so I can achieve -4.0. I have the front camber at -3.5 and I think I like it at that setting for now. Car rides amazing, definitely a real treat to drive. edit: Picture whoring time... And I tried to get a picture of how close the exhaust is from the ground (about 3") but I guess I should have put something next to it for reference, oops. If I don't take speed bumps appropriately, I will scrape it.

-------------------------------------------- Since I've been buying strut tower bars recently I decided to buy one more little item to help tighten things up. Engine torque damper. I've heard from countless amounts of people how it really helps out with the engine's stability so I figured I'd give it a whirl. Installed. Nothing to it really, just a bar supported by some brackets. Took my car out for a spin, didn't notice too much of a difference. Probably because my engine mounts aren't shot to shit like most folks. But the one thing I did notice right off the bat was the engine start up and shut down, a lot more stable in that respect.

Sweet!
Me too man, me too. Thanks! And just think, I would only consider this build about half done right now. It's just an overall nicer ride. There's no secrets with these springs they perform how you would expect them to. Very smooth and very quiet. Not saying the HKS springs were bad at all, but Swift is kind of a big deal. Haha.

just to add in, my friend says for the price S drives aren't really worth it, took it to track and they chucked like crazy lol
so now hes running rs3 and it ended up being cheaper than s drives. |

Yeah, honestly I've had no troubles with them in dry or wet conditions. Again, this isn't a track car, just a nice daily. The next set of tires I plan on purchasing are the Dunlop Z1 Star Specs. Been hearing good things about them so I'll give them a try. Before the S-drives I had KDW2's which are also good tires. Quote:
edit: I'm pulling out the engine and prepping the bay for paint this winter. Redoing all the wiring in the process as well. Should be interesting.

If you had them before, why did you ever change?? I didn't get them last time because I needed to save some cash but I'll go back to them next. And never change again.

I decided to try something different. Since I strictly bought KDW2's, I figured I would at least see what else is out there. Going to try the Z1 star specs next, we'll see how they match up against the KDW2.

I ordered a set of 30mm aluminum calipers. Probably won't get to me until Wednesday.
In the meantime, brand spanking new 350z rotors... Here is the size comparison... 350z track rotor (left) vs 300zx rotor (right) Oh I can't wait to install these bad boys.
