S14 SR20DET Snap an Axle..
i was just driving my future GF home, then i stop at redlight, then green light i gived a little of gas so the car moved forward a tad bit then right about 25-30 suddenly a loud noise come up ( sound like when you running over a big rock and it hit your frame ) then i immidiately stopped the car , come out and check. and what make the noise is from my axle , Is not the wheel sides but it seem like the axle loose a nut and feel off from the diff and it was on a diff side. NOW my problem is that what kind of AXLE do i need to replace. From KA or SR or ka and sr using the same axle . Im sorry if my english is bad ,due to typing with so much pressure and panic ,( it hurt when i saw my baby seat on the side of the street like this )
and here is the car and here is the motor i put in about 2 weeks ago when i first put it in

I can't read a bit of that chicken scratch gibberish, but if you're asking about axle fitment, why would you think that it's any different just because you swapped an engine into your car? Did the axles magically change themselves to something else while you were under the hood?

maybe he bought the car that way and is still learning about it? anyway. it depends on what diff is in your car, not what engine. pictures would be a big help. |

what is an axle cap?
you mean boot? also, those are 5 bolt axles, i mostly mess with s13s, but im pretty sure s14 is supposed to have 6 bolt axles? so those could be j30 axles/diff |

Yeah, looks like someone swapped the diff's. You can see the white out letter on the out put shafts. Then whomever installed it did it wrong (or just bad, bolt+nut+tighten) and the axle came apart.
That axle needs to be rebuilt if it can be used, or suitable replacement found (j30 maybe). As for the nuts, don't get hardware store nuts to replace those with. Need to be oem, because they have a special sized shank to keep the axle/output shaft against each other, they are also a special hardness. I am sure you "could" find them at a hardware store, but OEM is a safer bet, especially if that happened again, at speed on the freeway (shredded subframe and undercarage). GL.

If they have the OEM's yeah, but there is a non-threaded part shank to that bolt that snugs it in the diff/axle holes so there is no slack to make it snap.

You ALWAYS make me laugh on this forum. I was thinking the same thing. You only swapped the motor, why would the axles be different. You should see if the shift knob is the same for an SR.
