Yes, it's a Sequential-STYLE shifter. It makes it so all you do is push forward or pull back to upshift/downshift. It doesn't actually turn your tranny into a Sequential Transmission. It's quite an interesting little invention, but too much money for my taste. I usuually see them for over $1000.

Clutch is still required, however (supposedly) shifts can be made faster. Personally my hand is still quicker then my clutch foot, and I don't miss-shift very often. So again, it's not worth my money.

Good for drag racing where you only need to shit quickly in one direction. Not good for Auto-X or Drift where you might want to drop from 4th to 2nd. That would require 2 clicks with the Ikeya, where-as you could slap it over to 2nd alot quicker.

I remember reading at one point that it was made for right havd drive in the sense that the shifter would be positioned closer to the steering wheel (farther away for us LHD folks). So there might possibly be some ergonomics issues. just something to think about.

It also makes the shift knob much higher than the stock shifter. Could be a good thing. kinda like the new civic Si shifter.

If you watch D1 races, and they show views from inside the car you will notice that many of the racers do use seq. shifters.

They don't use fake ass shifters like this. They use fully Seq. Gear boxes like a hollinger sequential transmission.

For some reason that looks like it would rip the shit out of a trany. Don't know if anyone else thought of that, maintenance may become an issue.

You've never seen me trash a tranny at the drag strip with the stock shifter. Every time I go, I've wondered if I'd have a tranny to drive home with. Tomorrow I go with my B&M. When I do blow up 2nd gear... it'll be fun.

I have a sincro problem in third and fourth gear, and and a pilot bushing/barring problem but I drive/canyon carv/drift like i don't. I was just thinking that it would be a bigger problem with that thing, because it seems like it would take all the feel out of your shifts.
