Z32 into SR not fully seating
I have a Z32 transmission with a Mazworx kit going on my SR. It was in my SR previously but the trans broke (bad condition to begin with). I picked up a new Z32 trans that happened to be NA and swapped bellhousings. Everything I have read says NA vs TT are the same (minus the bellhousing). Trying to get it in, but it is sitting about 3/4 of an inch off and refuses to fully pop in.
Any suggestions or is there something I am missing here... First time I installed it popped right in. A couple photos of the gap |

Then most likely the shaft of the transmission is not fitting into the pilot bushing. You need to wiggle the transmission, while at the same time, stab it into place. Once lined up it should slide right on.

You need to align the input shaft and the clutch splines. If it doesn't go in, spin the input shaft some and try again.

Nissan transmissions like to hang up on the dowel pin in my experience. Hit it with scotchbrite and knock off any burrs in the dowel pin hole. Put a small amount of grease on it and countersinking the dowel pin hole some more helps as well. I usually just use 3 bolts to lightly pull the trans up into the disc. Nothing crazy, and if you're putting lots of torque on the bolts you're doing something wrong. But it's easier than trying to push it in by hand.
This is even with using a good clutch alignment tool.

The clutch was out of alignment, got that corrected, but still no go, moved in a bit more though. I am able to bolt in the top two bolts, but the sides and bottoms are not going in. Particularly the ones on the dowels, I will try dropping the trans again and cleaning the dowels and greasing it up.
